Gulf of Oman and Gulf of Aden are two quite different bodies of water.
This I know because I lived about 300 feet from the Gulf of Oman for two years, in a place that’s just off your map to the south.

All that means is that not only does the guy not know the location of the Straits of Hormuz, he doesn’t know how to spell it either.

That is, so far at least 20 of the earthquakes have been at a depth of exactly 10.0 km. I mean, exactly. What are the odds of that, spread across the affected region?
The odds are really, really good if they're all originating from the same underlying phenomenon, which, given the location, is likely. A truly weird occurrence would be near simultaneous earthquakes around the world all occurring at a depth of exactly 10.0 km.

This is a spreading center, not a subduction zone.

I read on another site that “10” is the default number, so they might actually be at different unknown levels. Thanks for the post.

Yes, someone posted that at the original site. That's an even simpler explanation.

On its slide north, it’s been banging into the Eurasian plate raising some pretty spectacular mountains, IIRC.

Dont tell me you guys have spooky action at a distance. Don't make attempt the double-blind-you-through-this-slit experiment...
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Moe: Hey, Lunkhead, hand me that vice.
Curly: Vice? I have no vice. I’m as pure as the driven snow!
Moe: Yeah, but you’ve drifted. [Smack!]

Keep an eye on Yemen these next few days...Though the swarm has quieted a bit, there have been quakes along the plates surrounding it.
The most interesting one was on the owens fracture zone.
These are forerunners to something much bigger.

Yemen has got to be one of the few places i don't care if there is an earthquake.
I take that back if it is really bad they will migrate to us

Two 4+ quakes today. Still at the same spot. Plate activity but very curious.
