“This is not the kind of show that I want to see my president taking part in” ‘Bedtime for Bonzo’ ...... need I say more?

Yes, I think you do. Bedtime for Bonzo was filmed in 1951. It wasn't until 16 years later that Reagan ran for Governor of California, and 30 years before he became President. Acting was his career before he became a politician. Once he decided to get into public life, he leapt in with both feet and focused on it. Not quite the same as being a TV star less than 2 years before a possible run at President.

After seeing the ads, I didn't watch it. Other than seeing Palin in a pair of gym shorts, which is admittedly a poor reason to watch something despite the good legs, there was no purpose. I might have understood it if it would have been purely outdoors show focused on the Alaska wilderness.

But as soon as the family got involved, it crossed the line from being about Alaska's wilderness to being a reality TV show, especially with respect to filming inside their home. I've always wondered about what kinds of parents actually think it would be cool to have TV cameras invading their home to see them and their children doing routine tasks. I guess we know now.

I'm trying to imagine the Reagans doing something like this, and I just think my former C-in-C would have had too much dignity.

Which was what I originally thought it was going to be. Then I saw some previews that were more reality show looking. Not really sure why she did this, other than for the money.

You don’t need to worry about not watching it. I’ll make up for you not watching it by watching it every night this week. Last night I was busy watching another television spectacle involving a certain football team.

I really do wonder why so many of you people are SO upset about a television show invovling someone who has clearly changed the political landscape? Are you upset that you didn’t jump on board soon enough and now have to save face among your liberal friends by bashing her? If you don’t want to watch, don’t. But the anger and the excuses some of you are making are rather comical.

BDS has clearly morphed into PDS.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to FR!

TV sportcaster was Sarah Palin's career before she entered politics.

Just so you know.

And by the way, you're wrong about her series, which is not surprising either, since you admit you did not watch it.

I don’t know...it might have been kind of cute to see Ron Jr. dancing around in his tutu, and to watch the daughter-from-Hell throwing tantrums and tossing the crockery about.

Kind of like the Osbournes, no?

“DIGNITY” ?

Oh please; what is your real reason for disliking Gov Palin?

As much as I don’t like bothering with anti-conservatives, and probably a retread, I have to point out that Reagan was doing TV up until he was forced to stop during his Governor campaign, Reagan was acting and hosting in the General Electric Theater television show from 1954-1962, and then the Death Vally Days, until he was forced to stop in 1966, about a year and a half later, Reagan was running for President in the 1968 campaign.

“When Reagan made his run for the California governorship in 1966, FCC rules forbid him as a candidate from appearing on Death Valley Days when it was broadcast in California during the election. He called on Rosemary DeCamp to take his place as host.”
