Flippin’ embarrassing? You betcha!

Sarah Palin has officially “jumped the shark.”

Last night’s premier of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will be remembered as the moment the once-promising, conservative darling crossed over into the absurd.

Part Alaska tourism promo, part window into the family Palin, TLC’s eight-part series features clips of the former governor at home in gym shorts and shots of the family enjoying the great outdoors while she calls out folksy comments like, “this is flippin’ fun!”

If that’s not enough, Palin takes Kate Gosselin (of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” fame) camping in the Alaska wilderness - the two women reportedly didn’t get along (Kate, it seems, is a bit of an indoor cat).

Conduct unbecoming a former governor and vice presidential

Right, dressing up in gym shorts and enjoying the outdoors is unprofessional of a former vice presidential candidate and ex-governor, whereas dressing up in pantsuits and throwing ashtrays at their husbands makes them presidential candidate material?

Sorry, I don't like short shorts on my presidential candidates - or their daughters - or staged videos of boyfriends sneaking upstairs after being told not to.

If she wants to make money, great, it's probably the way to go. If she wants to be taken as a serious contender, a lot less T & A is a good idea.

Every single week, Gov. Palin takes on Obama and the corrupt DNC.
Meanwhile, Romney pays Rove and others to attack her.
Backstabbing bastard he is.

$1,000 for Romney for President

Leper, backstabber, Mitt Romney:
"Do you duty.
You will embrace these attacks on Gov. Palin and her defenseless children.
Throw Election2008 to the DNC ….. for ME. FOR ME.
Then attack Gov. Jindal, Gov. Palin, and the others
who dare to keep me from my future as your King.
Create, then support, the attacks from our northern lands,
our bought media, and our plants within the Obama team.
I will gain GOP favor by condemning the very same attacks and
ordering them opposed from our lands in the south.
Whichever way the tide runs, we will rise and only I will be left standing."

I might have understood it if it would have been purely outdoors show focused on the Alaska wilderness.

Which was what I originally thought it was going to be. Then I saw some previews that were more reality show looking. Not really sure why she did this, other than for the money.

“Most politicians HIDE that stuff. Either because of skeletons in their closets, or because there is something they don’t want the public knowing/seeing.

Palin is an open book, and THAT right there is a huge difference between her and every other politician in America.”

Best Post!! I’m real sick of “politicians” and Sarah does not strike me as your typical politician...I like that!! Unfortunately, we missed the show because we were watching football. Hope to catch the next one.

even though the local PBS stations didn't run the latest Sherlock Holmes incarnation.

I watched them online: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/sherlock/watch.html

You don’t need to worry about not watching it. I’ll make up for you not watching it by watching it every night this week. Last night I was busy watching another television spectacle involving a certain football team.

I really do wonder why so many of you people are SO upset about a television show invovling someone who has clearly changed the political landscape? Are you upset that you didn’t jump on board soon enough and now have to save face among your liberal friends by bashing her? If you don’t want to watch, don’t. But the anger and the excuses some of you are making are rather comical.

BDS has clearly morphed into PDS.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to FR!

I will continue watching and reserve judgement till the end, trying to keep an open mind.

Because I really do Love Palin :)

I have to agree. I watched and was mildly disapointed. I loved the adventure parts, outdoors, fishing, glaciers but not the discussion of creepy neighbor or politics. I don’t watch reality shows, no matter who is in them. I wanted to see more of the outdoors. All I can say is, Todd can climb like a spider. I could never do any of those outdoor challenges...bears near a boat? No way. Climb a glacier? I’d be petrified. Too many commercials, too many ‘previews’ as part of the commercials. I’ll watch again next week, though.

I remember another guy who had a TV show and then became president. He was a two termer also, I think.

President Reagan earned his way inspite of his early career as an actor, not because of it. Ask someone under 60 to name one of his movies or even the TV program he hosted.

He left TV in 1967. Governor Palin or anyone else comparing her to President Reagan is far more laughable than anything Vice President Quayle ever said..

TV sportcaster was Sarah Palin's career before she entered politics.

Just so you know.

And by the way, you're wrong about her series, which is not surprising either, since you admit you did not watch it.

ROFL. You’re not sure?

How about defining herself, instead of letting the lamestream smear and define her?

Little girls will be writing to Piper.

I guess you don’t recall JFK, Caroline and all the promotions of their family.
