Well, it was only a matter of time. But people are pushing back because
for the most part they dont think this makes them safer. This is just one of the stories on the new TSA pat downs. Steve has posted on it here. But the push back from travelers, flight attendants and pilots continues. HS Secretary Janet Napolitano has asked for cooperation from travelers
but thats easier said than done. Witness the push back from a San Diego traveler.

The right to keep and bear arms is already way too far restricted. Expanding on a theory of Robert Heinlein: a county where citizens can freely carry loaded machine guns into the court house is a county where there is almost no crime.

I don't intend to fly anywhere any more, but in the event I do have to, I will make sure that I take off all my clothes down to my underwear, keep hold of my identification and get in line.
Also, if enough people let the airlines know that they are giving up all voluntary travel, they will help us put pressure on the TSA.

The headline writer is using a direct quote from the traveler in question. When you’re quoting “ “, you use the exact words.

Would the writer have used the exact words had the person in question said “Back off mother*&^%$$!”? Of course not. Therefore, the headline writer has no problem using the freshest ghetto slang out there. This, I believe, is not a good thing. Headline writers in the, say, 1950s did not do this.

Would you allow a state to restrict the voting franchise to those able to proof at the time the vote that they have an IQ over 90?
I really don't think it is appropriate to hijack this thread with my personal desires for the construction and conduct of states as my personal preferences of statehood (or anyone's for that matter) bring little to the discussion. However, since you asked, I would prefer a Republican form of a Meritocracy based upon a capitalist economy.

Indeed, but we’d be as screwed as Britain is if we had no 2nd amendment.

Thanks Code Toad.
Never forget that those in power or those wanting power over others or special favor from other find the easiest way to be by chopping off the rights of others.
Do not think that those who take the rights of others do so are either Marxists socialists and statists on one hand or fans of highly ordered uniformed police states either.
For example in the area of copyright, patent and related laws, many who act to oppress call themselves fierce defenders of private property rights. When in fact those "rights" are a false construct. It is those "rights" which are in truest basis -- privileges. They are grants of power made to individuals by the State. A copyright and patent TAKES AWAY FROM INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. As a fellow software developer -- so I may gather from your name -- you may have encountered how oppressively wielded such privileges of faux "rights" can be.
