I can see where y’all are coming from, but I did not read this commentary and think he is talking about compromise, neither did my husband.

But if you don’t really know or follow Herman, you probably wouldn’t get that.

He is not talking about compromise. He is talking about how if Democrats won on raising taxes with Republican opposition, they would likely lose in 2012. Obama knows this and is looking for a way to give-in without losing his base. If Republicans went along with Democrats on tax increases it would wreck Cain's strategy (or his logic.) It would be a disaster for Republicans.

Watching MSNBC tonight it looks like this will be pushed into the next congress. The Reid Pelosi congress is still paralyzed.
