Freudian slips may haunt Obama By: Keith Koffler November 15, 2010 04:36 AM EST

President Barack Obama, fresh from his drubbing in the 2010 midterms, is trying to revive his fortunes by pursuing a path toward the middle.

But Obama’s effort to overhaul his image is encumbered by conflicting impressions of who he is that have been engraved in voters’ minds by his own words.

During unguarded and even some staged — but inadvertently revealing — moments, Obama has allowed unintended glimpses into his thinking. At various times, his offhand comments have led critics, and many voters, to view him as an ardent leftist or an elitist or — most recently — a partisan Democrat.

These Freudian slips, uncovering the man beneath the spin and the speeches, are embedded in Americans’ subconscious, if you will, because they seem to come directly from the president’s inner self. Obama can change his policies, but he cannot easily erase these perceptions. And because of his cool opaqueness — noted even by his own staff — and his relatively brief track record on the national stage, voters have little else to go on.

Obama’s meteoric rise and young presidency have been marked by asides that appear to offer insights into his psyche.

His surprising self-revelations began during the presidential campaign. They were harmful but did not create major problems.

First, there was his condescension toward blue-collar Midwestern voters. At a San Francisco fundraiser, he said, “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

There is no “middle” any more.

Exactly! The "middle" between Obama/Pelosi's efforts to destroy America quickly and the Tea Party desire to preserve a free nation is the RINO compromise to destroy America slowly. When it comes to preserving American freedom, failure is not an option.

I'm not sure how one would classify that as a Freudian slip.

Exactly. To think that we have been inflicted with an America-hating racist because of people’s “white guilt”. Oh the irony.

Correct. He made no bones about telling Joe the Plumber that he believes in “wealth redistribution” (theft). There was nothing “Freudian” about that. People just completely closed their eyes to the truth, his beliefs coming from his own mouth. Their “white guilt” overcame every vestige of common sense. THAT is the role that decades of indoctrination by the race hustlers and their fellow travellers has played, and it’s a big one.

No, you’re not alone. The black culture which has resulted from the social experiments in attempting to achieve the unachievable-equality of outcome-has been detrimental not only to blacks, but to American society as a whole. In turning a blind eye to the negative results in the black community-higher rates of unwed motherhood, a culture of violence, glorification of coarseness-society as a whole gave itself a free pass to tuen a blind eye to these things in the general society. Stigma is gone, shame is extinct.

Right, because they aren’t isolated “slips” he has a pattern of these statements, starting with “I won”, and that wasn’t a “slip” over a microphone that he didn’t know was live.

Precisely. None of these things were 'slips.' They all reflect his deeply held Marxist, elitist worldview, and reveal exactly who he is.

The fool should be smart enough to hide who he really is, but he announces it from his teleprompter on a daily basis, even knowing full well that the American people don't share his radical views.

I hate RINOS.

Much as I detest O’Malice, I couldn’t summon any tears for RINO Ehrlich’s lost governor’s race to him this month.

I ~expect~ to be screwed over by Dems....having a RINO do it is worse.

Thank goodness.

I was starting to worry that I was just cold hearted.

[not]...:))

Well, the MSM protected Obama just as they did Bill and Hill during
their presidential run.

Thank G-d people started to figure him out and expressed their anger
at the polls on Nov. 2.

yes, there is a lot of white guilt out there. on top of the fact that stupid people fell for the rock star and logo advertising. Most people did NOT know his middle name was HUSSEIN.

From the Maha -

RUSH: Also a memo to the Politico. A Freudian slip is nothing more than an actual revelation of the truth, an unintentional revelation of the truth. They're totally mischaracterizing these Freudian slips, Obama mistakenly telling people something. No, he's revealing who he is by accident. They know it and that's what they're worried about.

He currently reminds me of someone going into a job they have to finish out after giving notice....he came back from his trip empty handed, didn’t get the job done there, and now will go to work as those who have in their minds already left the job. He’ll go thru the motions and if opportunity to screw the nation presents itself again he’ll enjoy twisting the knife...but when all is said and done the guy knows he’ll leave office with a sweet bank account...wirte his book and make more and live life probably in another country that will “resue” him from the USA so he can continue his politcal moves for them.
