It's because after every election (especially the ones we win) all the pinkos, disruptors, and frou frou RINOs come out of the woodwork, either gloating (2006, 2008) or ranting and raving (2000, 2004, 2010.) It's amazing how long some of these sleepers are here until they finally show their true colors.
You have a point there. I wonder sometimes if a vast number of liberals have registered as members under various different names throughout the years and every now and then they use one of them to jump in to piss off us neanderthals (their impression of us).
I am always amazed how someone could be a member for lets say 5 years and never before posted or commented until recently. I say so because I have noticed a lot of such things in the last 12 Months with the rise of the Teaparty movement.
After all, all it takes is to register an email address a login name and a short probationary period before you can post threads without having them looked at by a moderator. It is conceivable that a bunch of socialist from the KOZ or DU have registered thousands of different names to be used in times of desired disruption and antagonism. It would be something straight from Alinsky's play book.
Just a thought is all.

Any chance of getting a few Sarah haters (at least the truly demented ones) dismissed from FR?

"I have actually been a member since the Spring of 1997. One day I wanted to change my screen name. "
I find it interesting that you're claiming to have been here for longer than the Boss's sign up date.
Very interesting posting history you have there. You have a two page posting history starting in 2001 (clearly your sign up date) with a two year gap in it.
As far as this comment....
I like it all but the "pro-life... should stay away" part. I think pro-lifers are fighting for something important and have great points. As someone who has converted a lot of Dems to vote Republican I think this issue kills us. I think there needs to be a third group in the abortion conversation just besides just pro-life and pro-choice. How about something like "pro-I-Dont-Want-Govenerment-to-make-Pro-Life-or-Pro-Choice-laws".
We've seen it before, from liberal trolls posing as libertarians.
The *I'm personally opposed to abortion, but......* line is as old as they come. You are just trying a new variation on it.
Abortion is murder. There is no other side.
As one of our astute FReepers once said, "Anyone who supports the freedom to choose an abortion, supports the freedom to obtain an abortion. Its the same thing. You cannot support the choice without supporting the action."....BykrByab

A troll who is anti-life & liberty. Anti-life and anti-liberty. Anti-(life & liberty), etc. Your common everyday liberal or RINO troll. Site pests. Pestilence. Insects. Cockroaches. Rodents. Donkeys.

They don’t want social issues included because where those folks come down on social issues would identify them as the Jackasses that they are. Whole bunch of braying going on down there with those people...

So, like, uh, what do you guys stand for?
Thanks for the good work, though there’s a lot more debate on conservative side than on the left side. That’s why we’re more dynamic I believe; we have to support our arguments.
To be a lib is kinda sad all you have to do is believe everything a nut d’jour says and not think for yourself.
Oh, and I look forward to contributing, not that I ever was a big contributor, once my work situation gets squared away.

Thought I'd throw my two cents in here...
Jim, you know, I'm an economic Libertarian and a Constitutional Christian conservative, and like the values represented here.
But I thought this was meant to be a forum of ideas. It seems what's being said is, "If you're a liberal, stay away."
I think that would be a big mistake. Any conservative who knows his stuff can beat a lib in the battle of ideas any day and twice on Sunday. This is not only an opportunity for people to observe the debate and see for themselves the truth of what we stand for, but also a golden opportunity to change some liberals' minds.
How do you build an internet site where ideas can be debated in a grown-up and respectful way? Maybe it's not doable, I don't know. I know there's a lot personal attacks that go on here like elementary school playground mentality. That will never win anyone over. And many of these people are ripe for the picking if they're treated right.
I think what we stand for is so good, we should export it and not be afraid of debate if we know we're on the side of what's good and true. In the light of day, truth always beats lies.
God Bless.

FreeRepublic.com, est 1996 and growing strong. We have NEVER welcomed liberals here and never will. FR is a more or less liberal-free zone. We don’t debate scumbags, we ZOT them.

Many are not. Many are actually very neutral but are "going with the flow." If we would just grow up a bit and be willing to debate them in the battle of ideas, we'd win some over. Also, many who watch a grown-up debate, sans the elementary-school nonsense, observe the integrity and truth of what we stand for and the utter hollowness of what they stand for, they'd learn.
Retreating into our shell does nothing to change the world nor does it better our lives. I think we've got something worth exporting - something that's good and can change others for good.

Well, maybe there's enough debate (squabble?) here among us conservatives to go around I guess.
Sure wish you'd consider expanding the original idea to maybe a special section where people like me would be willing to engage these people in a grown-up debate. They're sitting ducks in the forum of ideas. They are absolutely no threat because as I say, in the light of open and grown-up debate, truth beats lies every time. Could turn a few heads, who knows?
