This is a very good possibility. Anyone agree? Or disagree?

The author demonstrates a mind-boggling ignorance of submarines. Nothing could be more different than a Swedish diesel-electric with AIP and the Chinese Jin-class SSBN.

I wonder how much stealth technology that the Swedes are using came from our silent propulsion secrets those bastards at Toshiba sold Russia?

Yep don't even get me started on the media ignorance of Surface ships I don't know how many Newspapers I read that referenced ANY warship as a "Battleship"

ugh, just shows the complete collapse of journalism (I bet if we would have asked the New York Times Marx's birthday they would know lol!)

The recent news CBS video report (below) about the contrail that the military says was from a plane, but many are claiming to be from a missile contrail is what I speak of.

What drivel. There was no conspiracy between Los Angeles-area radar operators to conceal a missile launch.

Did they sell sub propulsion secrets? I thought it was the sale of a CNC milling machine.

The video report is about the Swedish sub that sunk the USS RR in mock war games. Do you read or just automatically figure you know everything there is to know already so you might as well attack the whole article?

It's just a blog rant, Amos, and based on information that's not new. While it has some true generalities, they are extrapolated to grossly over emphasize the threat.

On the other hand, no surface ship is EVER safe from submarine attack.

Politically, China won't piss off the US market by doing anything just off the US coast, they've got everything they want already, and Zer0 did it for free.

My bad, I miss read what you wrote. I guess i should head my own warning about reading before commenting. Sorry.

The video you had questioned was the video about the contrail. What the author is saying, many disagree with the government’s findings. Even many Freepers think it was a missile. So are the thousands and thousands of freepers who think it was a missile just as loony?

I would agree in general, but you don't think that maybe this guy's (blogger's) suggestion that China did fire one to see if they could, knowing Obummer would do nothing about it?

Very little, if any. The Swedes have the capability to develope quieter screws themselves. But what makes this sub so dangerous is it's engines. They are quiet, like a diesel-electric on batteries, but can stay down a long time, and make long moderately fast runs, without having to surface, like a nuke boat. Not quiet so or long or so fast, but long enough and fast enough. Especially in the littoral areas.

The Swedes aren't the only ones going AIP. The Italians, the Japanese and the Germans are as well.

What better way to keep enemies from developing real undetectable subs than saying you can’t detect them already.

Ya gotta love it when people with no military background speculate on military matters.

Personally I think its just a distraction.

Obama’s regulatory czar has spoken of using conspiracy theories to discredit, distract or otherwise lead opposition.

After all, the military could have simply said it was one of theirs and nobody would have questioned it any further.
