But it's funny how they didn't all see the same thing...a vertical launch would be vertical from all directions. The horizontal flight showed at different angles for different viewers, but since most were to the east (land), they were nearly the same. But funny how no pilots noted a large missile launch in the area.
Ahhhh. Not exactly the same. Starting to hedge your bets now. That is a wise move. Unfortunately some people posted a next day low res web cam image of a contrail and stated that it showed the exact same contrail that the video showed. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Lighting is the key and it will be physically impossible to reproduce that video short of launching another missile. They will probably have to end up hiring one of the special effect studios in Hollywood. :>
Maybe you have to live out here and be a pilot to realize this stuff.

Yeah my post was deleted faster than that missle launch. I was telling Tolsti2 that most of his pictures he is posting are photoshopped after the fact. From drooling pajama-clad tards in their basements playing with contrail images trying to make them look exactly like the missle launch. Lighting, clouds, city lights......yet they still fail.
They have yet to come up with an undoctored image or video which even comes remotely close to the kalifornia missle launch.

Who said it was always vertical ? The flight was arcing westward. We have no idea what altitude it reached.

There were flight restrictions near to that area and near to that time. Some debate going on currently on exactly how close to the launch point the flight warnings were. But since we do not know launch point or vehicle, we can at least assume pilots were expecting something nearby.
You know the rules though :> People towing the government line can call us names and we cannot call them names. They do not need to back up any assertion with credible evidence and we must. Such are the rules of the game.

No, you don’t get it, launches look the same to people viewing to the N and the S. Contrails don’t, when you see a contrail head on, it looks like its climbing straight up, at an angle N or S, it looks like an ordinary contrail.
I’ve seen launches from PHX and from north of San Diego. I’ve seen more contrails than you can imagine at sunset as I set up my telescope. There are NO reports of any ionized cloud from this. NONE. I’ve flown from Hawaii to Phoenix dozens of times, usually overnight, but we always fly the same corridor to cross the mainland, and its always in the same spot that US808 was.
I don’t see a single ounce of proof that it was a missile, nothing.

Your never going to accept that it was an aircraft that is beyond clear. No evidence will every be sufficient.
Even weather satellite imagery was shoing the contrails.

I’m a private pilot, I’ve flown these skies since the mid eighties, I’ve also done my share of backyard astronomy and been a avid aerospace nut since birth. I remember moon landings.
I am telling you straight up I’ve seen this kind of thing before. All the elements of it I have seen before.

I know damn near every mine dug in Southern Arizona, and that look never came near me. That was a missile off Cali.

And, I follow launches from VAFB, have even drove up Wonderview on Camelback and deployed my 10x15 astronomical binocs to watch for launches.
They are there for the viewing, you gotta know when and where to look.
Welcome fellow astronomer! I have seen every type of contrail there is, I’ve flown in damned near every type of passenger plane there is and have seen stuff that, to an uneducated mind looks like something suspect.
But, there is no reasoning with conspiracy theorists, they create conspiracies out of nothing, then have the audacity to ask the normal people to prove THEM wrong, rather than prove themselves right. And when you DO prove them wrong, they accuse you of being in on the conspiracy, then create a new one. Conspiracy theorists are the most lazy people in the world, they never, ever do the research to prove their point, they just create theories and ask the reasonable people to disprove them.....
At the same time, I'm looking at you hysterics dismissing data on AIP equipped diesel-electrics, "because some of them are coming from civilians", only military people can have knowledge of these esoteric matters. And of course, boats like "Gotland" cannot exist. Nothing can run rings around the US navy. And the technology was "stolen from the US" in the first place. By Toshiba, no less.

The channels around the Santa Barbara Channel Islands are very deep, ranging from 1,500 feet to 5,000-plus. It’s one of the reasons there are so many Great Whites in the area.

If a missile,I wonder if this somehow ties in to the story about reports coming out that North Korea wants to balloon-bomb the G20 with chemical/bio warfare or one way or another make a show of “strength.”
