Palin is not using bad diction here. We are not French where there is only one word for each definition. English is a textured language; Palin's use of ADMITTANCE instead of ADMISSION is both accurate and and has a more active-present feel. (MITTERE is the Latin active form of the verb to send. MISSI-,MISSUM are perfect and passive, respectively.)
Those who have a problem with using "admittance" should go back and read some more Fowler.
