Sadly, Steele has proven himself to be a real clown.

Azunis isn’t perfect, and result in Michigan have been mixed, but he’d be a pretty safe choice and much better than Steele or a subversive like Gleason.

I think this is a mistake. We are lucky to have him. Democrats will be rooting for Steele to go, so will the liberal media and so will close minder Republicans that are out of touch... I’ve been there before Mr Steele. You know what is going on.
To: CedarDave
Steele does not seem to understand that just GETTING the job is not enough- he actually has to do something.
And preferably be effective.
He has been not effective at all.
We won big this year IN SPITE OF the GOP party big-wigs... and some times having to run AGAINST them.
Imagine if we have someone on our side.
like RUSH LIMBAUGH!!! We've got to get him active wielding actual power.

the party can win in 2012 only if the chairman steps out of the limelight and allows the candidates to become the voice and face of Republicans.
I do like that statement.

Not a Steele fan but right now I see no better stepping up. He’s at least willing to let the Tea Party in the door. These other guys will do everything to throw them out.

I am mixed on this one. I don't know enough about Anuzi to say ya or nay. The Repubs did good in MI this year, but a great deal of Tea-Party Support pulled them over the line and dem burnout via "Two Penny Jenny", and Obummer..
But IMHO Michigan is key.
MY gut feel it will be Ground Zero for a Palin Victory, the same guy feel that had me stumble upon her what some 4 or 4.5 years ago here on FR and my gut told me she was talent for the future has me saying this about Michigan.
With that theory as a background, to have an Chairmen from their may not be bad, but only after they downsize the RNC and move it the hell out of DC. Mexico Missouri the the geometric center of the US sounds good to me...
