I just watched the video again and whatever it is seems to be moving too fast for an airliner.
I think it is a weather balloon caught in a jet stream.;-)

What a load of BS.
That was a con trail from the solid rocket fuel of a missile. I have seen many.

I have watched nearly every rocket, spacecraft, shuttle and military satellite launches my entire life. A jet engine doesn't have that kind propulsion or contrail. That "burn" gave it away. Sorry. Next explanation?

Well look at it this way. If everyone thinks it’s just an airplane it kinda wasted a Chinese missile and they didn’t get the fear warning they wanted.
Which is also probably why the Department of Defense went with airplane instead of “holy crap how the hell did China get a sub 35 miles off the coast of California and not one of ours heard it?!”

It was nothing more than mass hysteria created by the Tea Party Movement.

A Freeper yesterday asked a very telling question. If this was a con trail from a jet aircraft, where are all the other con trails from all the other jets at that time?

This most certainly was NOT a Chinese missile launch. </S>

Nope...y'all are wrong!!

There are at least two very large, spread out contrails right in the same frame, perpendicular to the “missile”. The “burn” is a reflection off the aircraft from the red/orange sun. Don’t missile fly faster than what this did? If I understand correctly he had it on video for 10 minutes.

If in fact it was a flight that originated out of Hawaii, coming from that same general direction at that exact time, it is doubtful that there are any other flights. It is not like you are in the continental US and there are flights crisscrossing from hundreds of different points. If another flight was on the exact same track and altitude 10 minutes later, the conditions would more than likely have changed, and the same effect would not be observed.
