U.S. Sen. Scott Brown a sometime Tea Party darling whos been tagged as a potential 2012 target after the Bay States Democratic landslide in last weeks elections yesterday downplayed the importance of the controversial conservative movement and its new foothold in Washington.
Im not sure who they are, said Brown when asked about the election of senators with reported Tea Party ties. Brown said hes known U.S. Sens.-elect Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Pat Toomey (R-Penn.) before the election and, They dont come and say, Hey, Im a Tea Party member. They come and say, Hey, Im a U.S. senator representing my state.
Brown dismissed the Tea Partys influence on the U.S. Senate despite national claims that self-described Tea Party candidates such as U.S. Sen.-elect Rand Paul (R-Ky.) represented wins for the growing grass-roots movement.

1,000% spot on.
It would be a huge waste of resources - spend the money where it will matter and make a difference.
I agree , he is a one termer.
They will. Then, there'll be no more need to concern ourselves with Brown's RINO-ness.
So whatever happened to the “Brown for Prez” crowd around here?
Scott Brown was elected by Massachusetts liberal and independent women, and I am quite sure he hasn’t forgotten.
That will happen in ~2 years.
I heard that the democrats are considering carpetbagger Vicky Kennedy to run against Brown. If they get out the vote in ‘12 like they did last week, he doesn’t have a prayer.
We have somebody who will vote with us 70 percent of the time.
That is a lot better than Kennedy’s voting record.
What do you expect out of Massachusetts?
Oh yes.
It kind of seemed strange to me when so many got excited about a pro abortion guy from Mass?
I think in the excitement of dumping Kennedy, somehow people were not seeing straight.
I’m not so certain Brown is as vulnerable as some here imagine.
Scott Brown more popular than John Kerry, Obama in Mass.
After less than five months in Washington, Brown outpolls such Democratic stalwarts as President Obama and US Senator John F. Kerry in popularity, the poll indicates. He gets high marks not only from Republicans, but even a plurality of Democrats views him favorably.
Brown is viewed favorably by 55 percent of those polls and unfavorably by only 18 percent. His favorable/unfavorable among Independents, who make up the majority of the states voting population but traditionally lean Democratic, is 55-11. Democrats see him more negatively, 42-32.
Kerry and Obama have similar (though slightly lower) favorable numbers than Brown, but their unfavorables are much higher
>>> that confirmed Snot’s motives to me.
“Snot”? What are you, 12 ?
There's NOTHING controversial about it.
He would only have appointed pro abortionists to the court
I will take Scott Brown over Ted Kennedy anyday.
Replaced by a Democrat who will march in lock-step with the Obama-Reid machine.
At least Brown marches occasionally with the Republicans, and his seat is one seat and vote in support of a Republican majority and leadership of the Senate.
As flawed as Brown is, his presence on the Republican side serves to advance the Tea Party goals--if only slightly.
But I think you're right. He will be defeated in 2012. And that's a shame.
The darling thing is getting old and is used to trivialize the movement, much like saying “aren.t you cute.”
Does Brown have to win a primary?
Scott show why RINOs are worthless.
“Snot? What are you, 12 ?”
Nope. I’m a person that worked to get this man elected and am disappointed in his performance.
If you’re looking to defend Snot, this isn’t the thread to do it on. Bye.
Aside from Brown's specific merits, he was running on an anti-Obamacare platform, and his win helped dramatically with candidate recruitment, fundraising, meta-narrative, and grassroots energy across the nation.
His win did us a huge amount of good.
Now he's just another 'moderate' Senator out for reelection. That's fine, we got what we wanted from him.
