U.S. Sen. Scott Brown a sometime Tea Party darling whos been tagged as a potential 2012 target after the Bay States Democratic landslide in last weeks elections yesterday downplayed the importance of the controversial conservative movement and its new foothold in Washington.
Im not sure who they are, said Brown when asked about the election of senators with reported Tea Party ties. Brown said hes known U.S. Sens.-elect Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Pat Toomey (R-Penn.) before the election and, They dont come and say, Hey, Im a Tea Party member. They come and say, Hey, Im a U.S. senator representing my state.
Brown dismissed the Tea Partys influence on the U.S. Senate despite national claims that self-described Tea Party candidates such as U.S. Sen.-elect Rand Paul (R-Ky.) represented wins for the growing grass-roots movement.

No serious political person ever thought he was anything but a Rhino....but we are talking about Mass. I don’t know he can win again there.
Did he help Beilet against Barney?
At least he's smart enought to keep his mouth shut, unlike Brown.
How can anyone be as stupid as Brown. He needs Tea Party support or at least neutrality, in 24 months, and he's already alienated it.
It appears that Brown is cut from the same cloth as that other unprincipled, codfish-for-brains pretty boy, John Edwards.
Leni
hes got no shot in mass without a groundswell of overheated righties...too bad he’s the last to know
Brown and YellowSnowe from Maine - two to keep an eye on for 2012.
If it’s good enough for Tom Delay, it’s more than good enough for Brown:)
Scott Brown was elected to do one thing...vote against Obamacare.
Mission accomplished.
His mere presence in the senate prevented the enactment of more radical versions of healthcare. And taking over Kennedy’s seat is a major embarassment to the democrats.
I don’t expect any more from him. If he wants support in 2012 from the conservatives who put him in office in 2010, he’ll have to earn it. But I doubt he will.

Finally at the end of the campaign he did “help” Sean.
Both Sean Bielat and Rob McCarthy (MA CD-6, lost in the primary - a really good conservative) came out strongly against Snot voting for the new bank laws and in turn Snot was a little bitch in terms of supporting them.
All very, very true. But he doesn’t have to piss in the punch bowl.
I think that this guy is probably toast. Some states are just gone and MA is one of them. At least they are continuing to lose population and electoral votes.
He will remember the TP people about a week or two before his election but they will have long forgot him. Better to lose this guy and pick up Senate seats in red states such as NE, MT, MO, ND, VA, FL and other swing states such as WI, PA, OH etc. We can get states that are easier to hold and more conservative senators.
Brown is just a flash in the pan and he will be replaced by a socialist. If the Republican senatorial committee is smart, they will allocate resources to electing conservative in red states and let Brown go especially if he continues to perform poorly in the Senate.
Still, it was wonderful to see someone with an "R" beside his name take the Kennedy seat. Perhaps that's why the left is all in a tizzy - they're still smarting from losing that particular "D" seat.
Scott Brown is Mitt Romney/John McCain lite.
We all knew who he was before supporting him. But it was the best Mass. had to offer..and we knew that too. Anyone who expects favorable results from Brown has not faced the reality of how he got where he is now. Why would any expect more from a “duck”..who walks and talks the walk. Just be pleasantly surprised if he does us good at any point...otherwise he is what he is.
It was either him or Martha Coakley - this is MA.
It was the Independents and Democrat voters who got him elected - Republicans only make up 17% of the voting population in MA.
Much of the money that poured in for him from all over the country came from Tea Party people - the goal was to have his vote in the Senate against HealthScare - he was ‘#41’
The people who came out to the rallies were mostly conservatives - but he wasn’t - he’s a RINO.
We all knew it - it wasn’t a surprise - and if you didn’t know it you weren’t listening closely to him.
MA voters aren’t ready for Conservatives:(See last election)
As much of a RINO that he is he’s better than anyone right now for that ‘Kennedy’ seat and he already has the history of voters crossing lines to vote for him - you can’t win in MA without that on the ‘Republican ticket’(at this moment)
I’ve got an idea: why doesn’t MA ditch Brown and elect another Kennedy to take his place?
Were there not a whole bunch of FReepers who were recommending Scott for President soon after his Senatorial election?
Scott is a good example of what happens to a person’s brain when they occupy the Kennedy Seat.
Exactly!
No worries, folks. MA voters will boot him in 2012 and will have a Kennedy back in the seat. Bank on it.
Given the recent re election of the odious governor I can’t see how we will get a true patriot elected in MA, never mind the fraud.
