Yes, and it is Lakin who is in court, not Hussein.

Speaking of which, I wish I was a member of the jury. Unless courts martial procedures have changed recently, jury members may submit questions to ask of the accused if he previously testified on his personal behalf.

I would ask him if he considered what effect his refusal to deploy would have on the good order and morale of his unit and the US Army. I would ask what constitutional or statutory authority gave him, an officer who must set the example for subordinates, the power to refuse a routine order, to deploy, from his chain of command.

If it was apparent that he wished to be a martyr, I would help him by recommending a lengthy sentence.
