How about 10-year-olds? Why not give them the vote?
Then we'd have politicians wooing voters with offers of free Justin Bieber tickets instead of offers of a "sustainable planet" or whatever hokum the youth have swallowed hook, line and sinker from their teachers, pop culture idols and other authority figures.

Love that woman!
Voters aged 18 to 29 years old comprised nearly a fifth of the voting population in 2008 and they voted overwhelmingly for Obama, 66 percent to 31 percent.
And it only took 12 to 14 years of North Korean-style brainwashing to make them do it!
In a situation where toilet paper was a rare commodity..
I’d like some Justin Bieber tickets. We used to call them
something similar anyway.
And note.. the posting above is a LEGITIMATE excerpt.
Thank you and good night.
I think there are rules!
Funny thing, in 1984, I turned 18 on Apr 20 and I voted for President Reagan in November. Unfortunately, it was the only vote for POTUS that I was happy to make where I voted for the best versus the worst (Fritz & t!tz). Ever since, it was vote for the least worst ! I also was not in the military.
One thing my dad and I talked about is we should go back where the only people who can vote are those who own property.
Great article form Ann!
‘08 was the
“ME VOTE and my vote makes a difference.”
Cure the world with Obama.
God help us.
BTTT for ANN!
“Not old enough to buy your own health insurance, not old enough to vote.”
It went OK at first, in 1972 with the war and the draft going on, the Republicans won 52% of the 18 to 29 year old vote.
***the argument for allowing children to vote was that 18-year-olds could drink and be conscripted into the military, so they ought to be allowed to vote.**
I read a fictional short story in a magazine back about 1967 about the US dropping the voting age to 16. The teens took over, and kept the older wiser people on drugs to control them.
I don’t remember if it was in ESQUIRE or PLAYBOY (some of us DID read the articles).
My uncle told us of the first time he ever voted backin 1932. He, and others, were working as carpenters on a house when the sheriff showed up.
Sheriff: You boys gona go vote aren’t you?
They boys looked at each other and shook their heads yes(You didn’t say no to the LAW back then).
Sheriff: Well let’s get in the car and go now.
So they piled into the sheriff’s car and went to the polls.
Poll worker: Are you sure these boys are old enough to vote?
Sheriff: HELL YES THEY’RE OLD ENOUGH AND THEY ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR FDR, AREN’T YOU BOYS!
He said they voted for FDR and left and that was the ONLY time he evere voted in his life. He was 18 years old.
We actually have had imbecile legislators here in Minnesota propose the exact same thing.
“if everyone under the age of 30 just admitted they voted for Obama”
I am under 30 and most definitely did NOT vote for the Zero. Remember what they say about assuming, Ann.
BS. I had my 4 year degree at age 19. Finished a year of grad school by age 21. Was married at age 21 and owned a condominium at age 21. I paid significant income and property taxes at age 21. My first son was born when I was 23. Ann is way off base with the attack on the age group. Instead, perhaps we need to focus on her complaint. Voters should be tax paying, property owning, productive members of society. Not just persons who have achieved some chronological age by virtue of nothing more than the passage of time. If you don't have "skin in the game", you shouldn't have a voice in how others are burdened with taxes to support those who refuse to be productive.
I think we should allow people including kids to arrive at their own conclusions. Saying we should go with Ann's plan would obviously skew things Republicans way and would never be allowed first of all. Second she should know better. People of much younger age use to be considered adults because so much more was asked of them. It's not an age issue.
The problem is that is that in the military there is accountability, responsibility, make it your own way kind of attitude. With the “educated” it's about I'm smarter than everyone else people should act like me because I'm enlightened. But they aren't taught what it's like in the real world. Is it really a shock that many of the educated elite are so caught up in their careers that they never decide to have children(birth control, abort them out of existence)?
Our country was built on freedom and that includes freedom to be liberal. Let's not move backwards but continue to focus our attention on the universities that promote fantasy over reality.
Ann is so much funnier than Jon Stewart and the other leftie comedians.
“As we have learned from ObamaCare, young people are not considered adults until age 26, at which point they are finally forced to get off their parents’ health care plans. The old motto was “Old enough to fight, old enough to vote.” The new motto is: “Not old enough to buy your own health insurance, not old enough to vote.”
Ann,
I have been saying this for months, so you owe me a hug for stealing my thoughts.
No one is a bigger fan of Ann than myself, but this article is a waste. Especially considering all the things going on right now.
And I wish people would stop saying that “kids” are “on their parent’s insurance” as if the parents weren’t PAYING FOR THEM TO BE ON THEIR INSURANCE. It AIN’T free.
PING!
