...Calling the New Deal a glut of federal programs, Perry said the creation of the Social Security system did very little to end the Great Depression...Unfortunately, the New Deal has essentially become the third rail of American politics that indiscriminately kills the political careers of any leader bold enough to criticize it or any program it created, he said.

We get a story with Perry saying what NO Republican is willing to say regarding Social Security, and in response from the likes of you is wild hallucinations.
Surely you are not a troll, so why so removed from reality?
I’m just curious what you would have Perry do? Should he bankrupt Texas securing the border and have Obama and his house of nuts file suit against us for doing what the federal government should do but won’t? And what should he be doing about the “dead guy”? Again, should he be sending the Texas National Guard down to drag the lake?
Perry is just asking money for illegals not protecting the border.
I take back the "surely you are not a troll" comment.
IS the US ready for another governor from Texas? I am mixed on Perry. He’s been a decent governor, but nothing special. Definitely far superior to all the alternatives we have seen. Not really interested in a Perry presidency.
Bzzzzzzzzzzzt!
Perry against Arizona law for Texas
Rick Perry: No Arizona-style immigration law for Texas, thanks
It looks to me like Tricky-Ricky was just politicing and campaigning.
Nice try, but nowhere in the articles you link quote Perry as saying he would veto any such legistlation if it comes for his vote. He said that he was concerned about certain portions of the law, which I’m sure you and the other derangement brigade members take it as support for amnesty, open borders and more sancuary cities for the drug cartels.
Perry would be correct.
LLS
The Trans Texas Corridor which was an attempt at outright theft of private property, attempting to mandate that Texan girls HAD to be vaccinated with Guardasil and his lack of protecting the borders. That should be enough. Oh, he signed a bill implementing a business income tax. They can call it a franchise tax or whatever they like but it is still an illegal income tax under the Texas Constitution. His penchant for special sessions really hack me off too.
He is a professional politician and that is about his only real skill. He started out as a Democrat and associated with flaming liberals early on. He is a buddy of Al Gore. Perry has never been a conservative in most ways until recently. Why? That is how he can get to a higher office, which is all he cares about because what else can he do? Being a professional politician is all he knows.
With all this said I'm glad that Perry is gov of Texas and Bill White is not. I have met and been around both of them. Bill White is borderline insane when it comes to being a liberal. Perry is just another professional politician who is going to check the direction of the wind before he does anything. Rick Perry for President of the United States? Yea, compared to Obama I'd say yes but Rick Perry has no business being in the same office as Ronald Reagan once was.
Perry likely would never have been Texas Gov. if not for Bush retiring to run for president. Perry has been VERY lucky in every election he has been in. He has had crummy opponents time after time and in the recent election the Republicans could have got a ham sandwich elected gov if it was on the ballot. Speaking of Bush, according to more than one lobbyist I know Bush and Rove have always referred to Perry as "the dumbass" in private. The TTC and the Guardasil issues showed me that Perry is not the brightest bulb. Being around him a few times has convinced me he does not have the intellect to be President of the United States. He is heavily handled whereever he goes and he has been doing a very good job of playing conservative lately. Barring a brain exchange with NJ Gov. Chris Christie I'd never support Rick Perry for President unless it was the same situation as we just had in Texas where Perry is running against a puke like Bill White.
That is my "Evidence, anecdote, reason, rhyme? etc..." you asked about. I've been following Texas politics and politicians for a long time and I don't make statements like I did about Perry without having some good resaons to. My reasons for not supporting Perry for President may not be good enough for some but they will do for me....
It is essentially a Ponzi Scheme...
No essentially needed. It is a textbook Ponzi scheme.
Thanks for coming back. Trans Texas, Guardasil, and borders. Got it.
The Good:
1) Perry was commissioned in the United States Air Force, completed pilot training and flew C-130 tactical airlift in the United States, the Middle East, and Europe until 1977. He left the Air Force with the rank of captain, returned to Texas and went into business farming cotton with his father.
2) In 2003, Perry sponsored a controversial state constitutional amendment to cap medical malpractice rewards.
3) In 2009, turned down approximately $555 million in stimulus money for unemployment insurance.
4) Talks a good game regarding Social Security, illegal immigration, and the 10th Amendment.
The Bad:
1) In 1984, Perry was elected to the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat
2) In 1998, Perry supported Al Gore's candidacy.
3) In 1989, Perry became a Republican 4) Has a terrible record of action regarding mandatory, medically questionable inoculations, illegal immigration, the proposed Trans-Texas Corridor, and the 10th Amendment.
The Ugly:
He speaks and runs as a conservative border-line Libertarian, and governs closer to a Rockefeller Republican.
Don’t forget he supported in-state tuition for illegals.
Mandating vaccinations are neither conservative or liberals.
You wouldn't know a RINO if sat on you.
I started out as a democRAT too, as did millions of us.
Let's get down to the point shall we?
You and all of the "gov Good Hair Perry is a RINO" idiots are freaking insane. PERIOD.
Maybe then we should have a new name for Rick Perry that might be more agreeable to you. How about CINO? Conservative In Name Only.
I made no comments on Perry's hair. It is nice though. That's for sure. Heck, I've hardly ever commented about Perry here on FR period. He just is not that big of a deal to me. He is a lighweight.
Perry indeed advocated the theft of land via the TTC. That is hardly conservative. Mandating what an underage woman MUST do with her body and requiring that she ingest a particular drug via executive order is hardly conservative. Nor is signing a bill in to law establishing a state corporate income tax conservative.
You seem really wrapped tight when it comes to Rick Perry. To the point that you seem comfortable with calling anyone that is not a Perry fan an "idiot" and "insane". That seems a bit much but you are entitled to your opinion even if it is delivered with little class. I've been hanging around here for a decade and you are the first fellow Freeper to call me an idiot. I can't recall ever being called that before by anyone. Or that I am insane. LOL! Whatever...
CINO. Yep, that fits Rick Perry.
If the name fits, wear it, or ignore it. Tell the nazi's at your local health clinic that you no longer want any vaccinations of any sort. Tell the nazi's in your state, that you want all the interstate highways given back to it's original owners.
I have lived thru Lowel Wicker, Bob Micheals, Christine Whitman, Gerald Ford, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and many others, but when I see the same said about Rick Perry, my BS meter goes off the charts.
Sorry if I insulted you, but I am lost for the proper words to describe someone who claims that Rick Perry is a RINO.
He is the first one out of the box with the truth. McJeb would never admit it.
It is a ponzi scheme.
He said he is not running but he will.
