As many as 300 schools in South Florida have been placed on lockdown today after a woman called a radio station to warn that her husband was allegedly preparing to open fire at an area school.
Capt. Dan Rakofsky of Pembroke Pines Police Department said today that an e-mail threat deemed to be "credible" was also received prompting the security measures.
"Inititally we received information on a threat from a local radio station indicating a woman had called in to say her husband was going to show up at a school in Pembroke Pines and start shooting," said Rakofsky.

Why does South Florida get so much crap going on??
Heard this on FOX earlier, but they didn’t really have much info about it at the time and the went on to something else.
"Can you hear me ok thru this burka?"
Another Muslim on a shooting spree?
Or just a bitter divorce?
I’m sure the perps will turn out to be the usual—Amish and/or Mennonites. /sarc
My guess is either the Amish or PowerPoint-addicted Methodists.
Why would you call A RADIO STATION and not the police? Nutty.
prayers for the kids and families...
While you are at it, pray that they will stop rendering their children to government schools.
al-Qaeda likes to phone it in to the media too.
“Long time listener, first time caller. Love your show. Thanks for taking my call.”
Hello? Radio Station? My house is on fire and my mother-in-law is still inside.
They are certainly doing all they can think of to get us all riled up so that we play into their hands, aren’t they?
Of course the school should be dismissed for the day, and police on call to do their job. I do not buy mas killings because of losing a job, or being left a lover. Self destruct yes, murder no.
lol
Not all government schools are bad. There's enough blame to go around. Bad teachers, poor parenting, lazy kids etc.
Our son went to public schools and had enough credits from high school to start Honors College at Michigan State University as a Sophomore.! GO GREEN!
Radio KBOM

Good point.
According to Dave Barry it's something called the DeSillers Effect. Here's an article he wrote about it in 1990 (this has been going on for awhile).
