The 23-year-old student hacker, Mitchell Frost, who hacked into the websites of Fox News Bill OReilly and fellow FNC personality and conservative pundit, Ann Coulter, was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Along with the prison sentence, Frost has been ordered to pay restitution: $40,000 to OReilly and $10,000 to the University of Akron, where the student had been studying during the crime.
The Ohio student pleaded guilty in May to using school computers and networks to access the sites. Between August 2006 and March 2007, Frost hacked into Frost was in his first year at the school when he launched attacks on Rudy Giulianis Joinrudy2008.com, Billoreilly.com and Anncoulter.com.
Looks like he'll have plenty of time to think about this one...
If he serves 3 months I’ll be shocked.
Which reminds me, what sentence did that University of Tennessee pinhead receive for hacking into Sarah Palin’s e-mail account?
any news on the palin email account hacker
Pardon me, but ... what damage did the young man do?
Now on to the POS hacker who gained access to Sarah Palins’ account.
Not so sure. I think the sentence sends a strong message that hacking websites is not youthful hi-jinks and will not be winked at.
Long overdue, I say.
Anyone wishing to contact Mitchell Frost can do so at: mitchellfrost@usprisonpunks.con
No hurry. You’ve got thirty months...
"mind da viruses, keep your cache clean Mitch"
>Pardon me, but ... what damage did the young man do?
Launching attacks is damage. If he was jsut snooping it’d still be damage.
I agree with bkepley.
If someone breaks into your house but does “no damage”, is he innocent of any crime? Say he just uses your computer a bit, reads a book or 2, watches some TV, gets a little ice cream from the freezer.
That should NOT be okay, nor should computer hacking/snooping or whatever unauthorized access crimes there are to be done.
The young man seems to have broken into the campaign eMail account of a Presidential Candidate. That wasn’t a very smart thing to do. Janie Hickenstropenhough down the street, perhaps a wink and a nod and a slap on the wrist. Rudy Giulianie, dude, you stepped in some neck deep fecal matter.
I’m still waiting to see what happens to Palin’s version of this.

Re: Hackers
From time to time various bad guys try to disrupt our website. The FBI and Secret Service are close to indicting some of the perpetrators and we will keep you posted when the arrests are made.
All premium members receive the full backing of our legal team and if anyone is hassled in the least, please inform us immediately. In the latest case, no proprietary information was obtained by hackers and we have safeguards in place to protect everyone who does business with us.
Rest assured that we are on this. Our defense of Sarah Palin has led some criminals to attempt to disrupt our enterprise. At this moment federal authorites and our attorneys are compling information against these people.
Again, if any person is bothered in any way - please let us know. We stand behind our products but, most importantly, we stand behind you. We’ll get the bad guys. Count on it.

Surprised he didn’t get 30 minutes community service and a job at DOJ.
For one thing, he destroyed private property, don’t know what the actual laws used were, but hackers should all go the prison...had my computer hi-jacked once and they even took over my internet connection and when I turned on my computer all I got was porn. Cost 50 dollars to get the thing clearned out because the guy was able to get rid of all the crap without crashing the computer.....hang um high..
Get ready to be shocked. There is no longer any parole in the federal prison system. There is time off for good behavior in prison, but that can never exceed 15% of the sentence. So he will serve a minimum of 25 months and change.
Interesting you think it's OK as long as he didn't do any damage.
When you find me sitting in your home watching the T.V. when you get off work, don't mind me, I promise not to do any damage to your property. :)
In my world it doesn’t matter. He went somewhere where he wasn’t supposed to be. Personally, I would have given him 10 years at hard labor, no parole. But then I’m just a cuddly little bear.
In 15-20 years you may then find out that there's a "double" of you... using your "history" as their own in some far off land.
Spooky stuff.
