The Bell Curve. John Taylor Gatto mostly disabused me of these. Read his
Underground History of American Education. (

Gatto’s got it.
Schools work to infantilize kids and we see that success with the level of immaturity in today’s 20 & 30 year olds.
The entire government schooling model is a failure - age grades and grading simply reinforce failure.
Adult life is about mastery of skills. Schools rarely teach mastery.
