JAKARTA, Nov 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that Washington's effort to reach out to the Muslim world was earnest and would help improve U.S. security, although he acknowledged that there was still more work to do.
Obama arrived on Tuesday on a twice-postponed trip to Indonesia, the world's most populous majority-Muslim state. Before leaving on Wednesday, he plans a major speech reaching out to the Muslim world that would tout Indonesia as an example of an emerging democracy and tolerant society.
"With respect to outreach to the Muslim world, I think that our efforts have been earnest and sustained," he said at a joint news conference with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"We don't expect that we are going to completely eliminate some of the misunderstandings and mistrust that have developed over a long period of time, but we do think that we're on the right path."

If I may be so bold as to ask, where is that?
I live in New Jersey and the area where there are a large population of Muslims(mostly Palestinians) is in Patterson. I get the feeling they are 'just waiting' as well.
Obama is like this ship, restlessly sailing to ports all over the world, stalking governments, bringing with him sick messages of subservience, defeat, apology, capitulation, fawning, faux humanitarianism, pretentiousness, condescension and uninspired, empty rhetoric and accceptance of opulence while pretending to care for the poverty-stricken.
Then, he itchily sails on to the next port, but like the cursed "Dutchman" ship, he never accomplishes anything but spreading miasmic fogs and no real "landing" anything of note.
The worst part of his eerie voyages is that wherever he goes he purports to speak for our country, namely, you and me. This is unconscionable and unforgivable. He is speaking for his controlling gods, whether it be Karl Marx or George Soros or Lucifer himself.
WE, as his subjects, and our wishes, do not exist for him.
I wonder if this spooky man, this Pretender, this Usurper, this dark Mephistophelian character creeps out the thinking people of other lands....or is he a product of dramatic imagination?
Well, if an analogy connecting Obama to the 17th century nautical "Flying Dutchman" myth employs a theme good enough for Wagner, Heine and Washington Irving......it's good enough for me!
