TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has left the door open for a 2016 presidential run.
Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, Christie ruled out a 2012 run for president or vice president. But he left room for a run four years later for higher office.

Chris, I’m sorry, but we can’t wait that long. Work fast for the people of New Jersey, baby, because you’re going to have to step up to the plate sooner than 2016.
P.S.: Go on a diet. Your country needs you and we don’t want you to keel over dead from a heart attack. You’re too cute to die!
He might be conservative enough for NJ but he is too liberal for president.
I think another good slot for him is to take Gibbs place. Can you imagine the press conferences? LOL!
As I've said before, Christie coming to TX to explain his gun control views would be a hoot.
Hope the door doesn’t hit him in the a$$ on the way out.His actions look like the Obummer in a white suit !
Chris Christie is exactly what New Jersey needs at this point, but I don’t think he’s got much of a chance to be President. As a fat slob who speaks plainly, pulls no punches, and doesn’t back down from anyone he’s perfectly suited for his current role, but I don’t see this kind of candidate getting a lot of support west of the Delaware River.
He’d be a great running mate for Palin.
I fully agree. Christie’s great for a state like NJ, but he’d be terrible as President, or even gov of a state like Texas or Arizona.
He is a typical east coast republican, conservative on finance and liberal on things like gun control. He needs to stay in the northeast.
It’s interesting to watch the difference between the regard for him in this thread and the one not too far away from it on the page. Compare and contrast.
If he’s not thinking about 2012 - then he needs to stick with fixing New Jersey. His endorsement for BO’s opponent in 2012 will carry a LOT OF WEIGHT.
Pure BS!
How is Christie on amnesty and guns?
He’s pro-second amendment and anti-amnesty. What has he done as governor to show he is otherwise?
In what way is he too liberal concerning the powers the President has and what a President can do?
What?
He is TOO liberal ,esp on gun laws . Obummer even appointed him to a government post recently . That is NOT good .
