New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie irked NBCs David Gregory and probably won over more conservatives weary of the media in the process by suggesting on Meet the Press that the host was acting as an advocate for Democrats in the way he spoke about taxes.
Christie, a Republican known for his tell-it-like-it-is attitude, disagreed with Gregorys characterization of the looming battle in Congress over the Bush years tax rate as tax cuts.
Christie, making it known that he disagrees with how analysts say that, said: This is maintaining the current tax policy in a weak economy, and what youre advocating through your question is
Gregory interrupted: Thats not fair. Im not advocating. Im questioning whether or not they have to be paid for.

Gregory's lack of self-awareness is striking. His "questioning" is from the Dem template. Conservatives don't feel that taxes have to be "paid for"; they feel that the money belongs to the person paying the taxes.
GO CHRISTIE!!!
How does one pay for tax cuts? Raise taxes?
Cut spending, ya dope. 700 billion? Say doesn’t ObamaCare costs about that much?
Tax cuts never have to be “paid for”. That phrase was concocted somewhere over in the far left and has become part of the liberal lexicon.
He was totally advocating. He also played up “the tea party as liability” angle.
I love the fearlessness of this guy.
This is such a myth that tax cuts have to pay for themselves. It's not the government's money. If the government doesn't have enough money then reduce spending.
David Gregory is living proof of Christine O’Donnell’s statement about “Apes are still evolving”
And this is how every GOP congressional critter should respond to the lib media questioners. As Rush Limbaugh stated last week on his show, do not agree with their premises when they ask you a question. Shoot it down. Then substantively state your position and and the reasoning how you arrived at that position.
Rope a dope.
It’s on now
It is about time! Republicans need to be quick to respond to these Democrat Talking Heads on the alphabet stations.
The liberal Talking Heads are the minority in this country.
Why not engage liberals when they make such foolish remarks.
Conservatives should not back down.
This reminds me of an episode of Stossel recently. He had Joe Trppi on and Joe could not or would not grasp the question as to why people should be allowed to make choices for themselves. He couldn’t get the idea that people should be able to choose their own lightbulbs. He kept talking about saving the planet.
I’m all for raising the top marginal income tax rate on leftists David Gregory and his wife Beth Wilkinson back to 91% as it was in 1963.
The question should be, Why anyone should receive a pay cut because of the government’s irresponsibility?
Exactly!
“I love the fearlessness of this guy.”
It’s funny, or sad depending on perspective.
I really like Christie, I may not always agree with him, but you know what you’re getting. Christie says what he means and means what he says. Christie states his positions, and then attempts to govern based on his stated position. Christie isn’t a typical professional politician who will fold, change or equivocate based on the prevailing winds.
But, here on FR, Christie is not 100% conservative, so he’s regarded as an amusing RINO. I stated support for Christie and was flamed because Christie isn’t conservative enough in all areas.
Odd.
Truth Hurts.
There are two points of view.
The Republican view is to “maintain current tax rates.”
The Democrat view is to “extend the Bush tax cuts.”
Gregory questions from the Democrat point of view.
