It’s pretty bad when you distrust Obama even more than the Russians. NO to whatever he wants.

Good idea, if you admit you’ve been lying about the Arizona Law and that the Health Care Mandate is Unconstitutional then we can discuss the START Treaty.

Otherwise it’s dead.

...President Obama declared Thursday that one of his top priorities is approval of the treaty, which is known as New START and is perhaps his most tangible foreign policy achievement.

Well, it must not have been too much of a "top priority," or else he wouldn't have wasted all his time cramming the enormous unread health care bill down our throats and playing the role of the micromanaging Emperor-Most-High-of-Government-Motors.

That's because you can trust a Russian to be a Russian but you can't trust Obama to be American.

Actually the bill I referred to was S.1639 in 2007, not S.2611 in May of 2006. Kyl did vote against S.2611 probably because he was up for reelection that fall and he knew it would pass in the Senate anyway(it did and failed in the House).

His vote against S.2611 is interesting as "it was crafted in large part as a result of efforts by Senators Kennedy, McCain and Kyl, along with Senator Lindsey Graham, and input from President George W. Bush, who strongly supported the bill. For that reason it was referred to in the press by various combinations of these five men's names, most commonly "Kennedy-Kyl". A larger group of senators was involved in creating the bill, sometimes referred to as the 'Gang of 12'.[1] This group included, in addition to the aforementioned senators, Senators Dianne Feinstein, Mel Martinez, Ken Salazar and Arlen Specter. Senators Jim DeMint, Jeff Sessions, and David Vitter led the opposition to the bill.[2][3]"

The quote is from Wikipedia, but they have included footnotes so you can check the info yourself if you want to. BTW nice group of Senators Kyl aligned himself with.

In 2007, safely reelected for another 6 years, Kyl voted YEA to invoke cloture on S.1639, the NEW Comprehensive Immigration bill, the one that was widely referred to in the Conservative community as "Shamnesty". Worse than that, Kyl voted against the amendment that would have prohibited known gang bangers and criminals from hopping on the path to citizenship.

Also interesting in the category of 'who you gonna believe, me or your own lyin' eyes' is the fact that Kyl appeared in person to a packed auditorium in my city to address the local TEA Party earlier this year. He apologized for supporting the Amnesty bill that we shut down in 2007 and said the only reason he participated in that was that he thought there was no way to stop it's passing and so he was just trying to make it as non-harmful as possible. I guess he thought gang-bangers and known criminals would be helpful to America.

Finally, in your link (which took me to MEDIA MATTERS) it is made very clear that Kyl is still FOR Comprehensive Immigration Reform aka Amnesty. While he does press for border security, he adds that that's the only way we can get Comprehensive Immigration Reform... So the purpose for reinforcing the border is to facilitate Amnesty.

I know how high his ACU number is and I fully appreciate that. I voted for him enthusiastically in 2006, but Amnesty is the single thing that will finish off this nation IMO because the millions rushing in do NOT understand what made this country so great and why it has prospered. They aren't necessarily bad people, but most are at best poorly educated and they will vote for the wrong things and people.
