Snips from Excerpt only website: Seventy-two percent of black babies are born to unmarried mothers today, according to government statistics. This number is inseparable from the work of Carroll, an obstetrician who has dedicated her 40-year career to helping black women.
The black community's 72 percent rate eclipses that of most other groups: 17 percent of Asians, 29 percent of whites, 53 percent of Hispanics and 66 percent of Native Americans were born to unwed mothers in 2008, the most recent year for which government figures are available. The rate for the overall U.S. population was 41 percent.

I can speak for Ohio where blacks make up 41% of the total abortions in the state according to the most recent statistics.
Over half of the brothers subscribe to nation of islam....and it allows polygamy. Illiterates producing more illiterates filling up the jails.....
This has been enocuraged for years by the Federal Government and even some black churches. Have as many children as you can and let the government or grandma take care of them.
And THAT number is added to the 72% bastard rate.. cause their dead and cannot be counted.. makes the 28% two parent family rate much smaller.. if total pregnancy's are counted..
Blacks are slowly being eliminated.. and they DON'T CARE..
If they DID,, somebody would be mad as Hell.. at democrats..
Liberals have done what the Klan could never do... Destroy blacks.
Oh, so that thing about babies and the cabbage patch is true?
Well I can’t say, having never heard it.
Wow!
Do you have a link? I'd like to pass that along to my liberal neighbors.
Maybe if we taught sex education in public schools people would learn what causes pregnancy?
Irresponsible men.
Men want women to take care of them.
You may be right. It could be done though.
Right now the government rewards teenaged unwed mothers with welfare, apartments, food stamps, cell phones, etc. Cut the rewards and it will reverse itself immediately.
I know the father in these situations take a lot of flak for this. And rightly so. But the last time I checked a child needs a mother in order to be born. And if 72% of the children in some communities are born out of wedlock, what kind of reflection is that upon the poor, hardworking, single black mother that we often see applauded for ‘carrying on’ in spite of adversity?
People forget that up until the Time of Nixon, the South was a near solid lock for Democrats. Who was the driving force behind some of the darkest groups of that era? The Democrats.
To this day they see nothing wrong with an ex-Clansman group leader and recruiter serving in their ranks.
They see nothing wrong with policies that have devastated black families, and are bold enough to brag that they still support them today.
So yes, Blacks do deserve blame for allowing themselves to be gamed like this. I agree with that.
Does this qualify as a sort of Stockholm Syndrome? I think the case could be made.
IMHO, it's still worth a read:

Young girls, white ones, are striving for single parentship now. They HATE being married in the 20-28 year range.
I hear them bitching about it a lot.
In Georgia in 2008, according to the GA Dept. Of Health, 35,888 abortions were performed. 58.2 percent of those abotions were black babies. Blacks are 30 percent of the population in GA.
That would have been the trademark democrat way of being a "father." Hollywood personifies it in most of their movies and via the personal behavior/morals (or lack of them) of the "entertainment stars" who vent negatively and obnoxiously upon those of us with conservative views (Cher this week for example - and rappers who have no respect for either women or law enforcement whatsoever).
Billions of dollars have been thrown down the rat hole of inner city education with absolutely no positive results. Thats because adding teachers or computers or new books have a limited effect on children who lack paternal discipline.
IMHO you've brilliantly summed up a major part of the problem in a couple of sentences.
There ARE black parents who do not deserve the stigma of this outrageous statistic and I applaud them for their efforts to raise their children to respect others (as they should be respected) and to learn, earn and survive, but not the way democrats and those promulgating an expectation of entitlement would hold them back from doing so.
I’ve had on-line spats with libs over issues like this. They spout off that whole anti-traditional family, “I’ll do what feels good cuz “who are you to say what’s right and wrong” BS. Then I try to explain to them how one thing leads to another...family dysfunction leading to societal ills etc. but they will not comprehend it because they are selfish immature people who just do not like any restraints placed on themselves.
I had a child out of wedlock at 17 and married the father. I never had any more children because I couldn’t afford one in the beginning and then found out our parenting styles were just too different and it caused a lot of conflict. My daughter had a baby 2 years ago. They live together in their own place now but he has not proposed. She had been depressed because having the child cramped her social life/free time and basically wanted me to be my grandson’s primary caregiver. Yet, she was afraid she might be pregnant again.
These kids (young adults) know all about sex and protection. The libs think throwing money at more “education” fixes everything and then when their “educating” has failed they just throw more money at it (welfare.) God forbid they stop and think about “morals.” One problem is there is no “shame” about anything anymore. Shame, when appropriate, is a good thing as it signals there is a moral conscience.
A rather odd headline, isn’t it ? If the unwed motherhood rate is 72%, who’s left to do the ‘struggling?’ The parents of the 28%?
Bill Cosby showed what happens when you do that.
