I’m sorry, but from what I have seen, the Angle campaign had these problems and more. Rove was a jerk for voicing his concerns about O’Donnell before the general election - in a manner that could only hurt her, and after it was too late to change the primary results anyway. It would have been far better if he had delivered his critiques as a post-mortem. But I don’t see a problem in this particular post-mortem of a campaign that had the upper leg on Reid and squandered it. And although Rove is a vastly diminished figure now to me, he does understand GOTV and logistics - he built the Bush 2004 GOTV machine, the one time the GOP has overpowered the Dems in that department.

Re: Rove. He justified his remarks by saying that FNC pays him to be an analyst and to speak his mind and that’s what he did. He may have gone over the top.

O”Donell would have lost even if Rove had been her chief cheerleader, IMO. She was a deeply flawed candidate in a deep blue state - a losing combo if there ever was one.

Look, we can try to analyze and critique past campaigns all we want but trying to explain wins or losses by pointing to aspects of the campaign or individual candidate is pointless. There are just too many variables.

The real problems lay with us the people. We have allowed 20% or less of the population to force us into capitulation and haven’t spoken up and stood our ground. Look at comments even here in this forum for instance. Supposedly this is where the conservative of the conservatives meet. Still there are negative comments about our candidates that plant seeds of doubt. Then there are those, typically not in this forum, who claim to be Christian but still vote for candidates who have pro choice or outright pro abortion or pro gay voting records.

We, the people, need to understand that even the Pastors, Priests, and Rabbi’s don’t stand firm on Biblical principles and must hold them accountable. If we don’t the base of moral voters is going to continue to erode.

It’s “we the people” who need to hold each other accountable if we are to build a base of voters who stand on principle and that needs to be done long before candidates are chosen and campaigns are started.
