Jim, you can have the best conservative message in the world, but if you don't run a good campaign, it is all for naught. That is the point here. You have to have a solid GOTV effort and need to control your message and don't let the other candidate define you. Check out post 99 - a Freeper who was on the ground for the Angle campaign weighed in. I saw the Dem ground game in Philly and how it almost cost Toomey the election because Toomey was up in the polls in the end and the ground game faltered because folks thought Toomey had it in the bag.

And if you read my other posts on this thread, I am calling for folks to get out and support conservatives and give them the boots on the ground to win in tough races.

We have to be better prepared if we want to win it all in 2012.

Uh, I do support true conservatives - and I actively supported one this campaign - to the point where I, as a volunteer, was recognized at campaign functions as a staff member.

Maybe you missed this post of mine on this thread:

The Dems were able to motivate against Toomey because of his conservatism - so right there is an object lesson - if we are going to push for conservative candidates in purple states, we must get out and volunteer to help in the GOTV efforts

Nowhere on this thread did I say we should nominate RINOs - to the contrary, I have asked conservatives that if they are going to push for conservative candidates, they need to get out and volunteer to help them out in GOTV efforts - and likewise the candidates themselves have to master the details of running an effective campaign.
