Mr Bush has allegedly told friends that Mrs Palin is not qualified to be president and criticises John McCain for picking her as his Running Mate in 2008
"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official close to Mr Bush told the New York Daily News.
"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."
Mr Bush has allegedly been disparaging about Mrs Palin in the past.
Matt Latimer, former special assistant to Mr Bush, wrote in a book released last year: "'I'm trying to remember if I've met her before. I'm sure I must have.' [Mr Bush's] eyes twinkled, then he asked, 'What is she, the governor of Guam?'"

Your muses suffice. :-)
I agree - if there’s no source pay it no attention. But do you apply that logic to the $200m/day Mumbai story too?
I won’t buy his book.
And “uppity women”.
:)
[how long ‘til his caprine cohort comes along for a gender-conflicted rant?]
Is that you Chet?
“Bush and Poppy are elites.”
If Kitty Kelley’s book “The Family” is to be believed, the Bush men also see women strictly as helpers and supporters, not as the star attraction or top leader. W also has reason to want to see Palin marginalized in the GOP in light of the fact that brother Jeb may still have presidential ambitions.
Suddenly, it all comes together.....8^O
These Damn Bushes are royal snobs. GWB is the fellow who broke out in hives when Gore was challenging the election. Sure he can be tough when he has his Global Syndicate is standing behind him, but he is no self made man. He is more of a Prince Charles. We have to cleanse ourselves of the Bushes, Kennedys and all other vestages of the Global Royalty.
“That’s twisted!”
All of us serve a purpose here.
Being twisted is mine....:)
But we knew enough.
Well, there weren’t any quotes by Bush. So for all we know, this is someone’s 3rd-hand misunderstanding of something Bush said.
Anyway, there is something different between discussing political campaigns and candidates, and a former president discussing a sitting president. Up until Obama, presidents have had some degree of decorum not to attack other presidents past/present/future.
Wow.
I feel like we should throw a *hugh* ZOT party or something.
This, following Tuesday’s bloodbath?
It’s just happy happy joy joy overload.

The GOP must learn the lessons of the past. The first and most important lesson is never, ever, EVER allow the dems to frame the issue.
Pelosi was Minority Leader from 2003 to 2007. I am not so sure it would be a good thing if she won that position again. She was quite effective at what she did.
You just joined *this* morning in order to post to *this* particular thread?
Curious, that.
They always gave me the creeps....:))
Are Pitstop and Odin going to have a glass of champagne to celebrate?
There will be very few FReepers lamenting the passing of Chet from what I gather.
