At their new political high-water mark, Republicans have plenty of reasons to celebrate - and at least one large cause for worry.

On Election Day, voters shattered the Obama agenda of expanded public benefits and increased income tax progressivity, leaving the president to reassemble his goals with glue and tape. During this midterm cycle, Republicans became reacquainted with estranged friends: independents, seniors, college-educated voters, working-class voters, rural voters and suburban voters. The Republican Party will benefit from the infusion of diverse, attractive new leaders, including some, such as Florida Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, with Tea Party pedigrees.

First of all, this is a moronic statement. Barack Obama is the President Of the United States. This means that everyone on earth is qualified to be President Of The United States.

Secondly, people at FR were talking about Palin as potential Presidential material long before McCain chose her as his running mate.

Because I can actually see Palin as a conservative, because of her stated positions. You irrationally do not. Because you have interpreted her statements as being in favor of Amnesty, which she has stated many times she is not.

Furthermore, do a google search on Mike Pence and AZ1070 and see how many articles come up.

Do the same search with Sarah and see what comes up.

Sarah was all over this issue, Mike, hardly a peep.

Show me where I “dismissed” President Nixon for his role in the Watergate scandal. President Harding was conservative, but that doesn’t excuse his cronyism and the Teapot Dome incident, or do you think it does?

Were you with him when he wrote that? Then how do you know he “wrote it all by himself” other than the mythology that started as he lay on that rooming house bed, dying? If they can make up tons of stuff about Obama, JFK, FDR and others, why do we doubt that they were doing the same in the 19th Century?

There were five transcripts of this speech, all written by Lincoln himself. The one we see now is the one he signed for a friend several months after the speech. So unless someone recited it to him, it was his.

In 1952, at the end of Truman's presidency, he walked out of the White House without Secret Service, and took the train back home. Think 80 years before that, they did not have staff or speechwriters. Politicians had to write their own speeches. They would have been considered frauds if they did not.
