The Obama administration got a new shellacking this morning, this one entirely voluntary. In the name of improving Americas image abroad, it sent three top officials from the State Department to Genevas U.N. Human Rights Council to be questioned about Americas human rights record by the likes of Cuba, Iran, and North Korea.
This was the first so-called universal periodic review of human rights in the U.S. by the Council, which the Obama administration decided to join in 2009.
The move represents a striking departure from prior American foreign policy, which has been to ratify selected human rights treaties after due consideration and submit American policy-makers to recommendations based on well-conceived standards accepted by the United States.
But in the three-hour inquisition which took place this morning, Michael Posner, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor responded with thanks to very many of the delegations for thoughtful comments and suggestions shortly after Cuba said the U.S. blockade of Cuba was a crime of genocide, Iran condemned and expressed its deep concern over the situation of human rights in the United States, and North Korea said it was concerned by systematic widespread violations committed by the United States at home and abroad.

It may have been in the name of improving America's image, but it reality it was done to further embarrass America. ...especially with the Obama admin's "thank you sir, may I have another" attitude about it all.
Just more ‘Rat “Smart Diplomacy” comin’ home,....to ROOST!
Obammy has made America less safe for everyone!
Obama and the UN are one in the same just propaganda their goals one world communist state.
A real President, a president that believed in America, would tell these idiots to pound sand. ;-)
(forgive me for shouting, but) EXACTLY!!!!
I am not surprised. They are only following obie’s lead...
Obama’s report to the UN mentioned several issues he had with this country’s record of human rights:
Arizona’s Immigration Law
No Card Check union representation
Resistance to same-sex marriage
no universal pre-school
They are saying nothing our President hasn’t said in one way or another.
this guy has earned NO ONE’s respect.
This reads like the script from a comedy film, except that it is real. Horrible man we have as POTUS.
Good—let the State Department go and grovel and take it in the shorts. Hillary’s precious errand boys can get a fill of the PC excreta they have been pushing down our throats for years. It is NOT my State Department—have fun boys!
GOTTA READ!
Thanks for posting it!
There only thing the world thinks of us under Obama is that we are a bunch of saps and assh*les for having him as our leader..
“Michael Posner, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor responded with thanks to very many of the delegations for thoughtful comments and suggestions shortly after Cuba said the U.S. blockade of Cuba was a crime of genocide, “
Another idiot spouts off...
Can someone please explain to Mr. Posner the difference between a blockade and an embargo?!?!?
Oops! You forgot something... oh yes, universal health care, everybody has that now. USA doesn’t have it yet, and people are still fighting it! Ohhh Obama, you mean you haven’t enforced that new law yet? Well, you need to get on the ball and enforce that new immigration law before that eevvilll Arizona governor gets away with that new law of hers! Then the other states will want to have it too, and you’ll lose that golden opportunity to punish her for it! Yeah!/s
Uh, that is Health Care Law in fourth sentence.. I was so caught up in having fun typing that paragraph, I didn’t make that clear!
