The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has delayed approving a $173,000 report that will slam the Obama administration's handling the 2008 Philadelphia Black Panther case.

A commission spokeswoman told the Web site Main Justice, which monitors the Justice Department, that a vote to approve the report was canceled for Friday.
The move comes a week after Michael Yaki, a commissioner who is a Democrat, stormed out of a Commission hearing, leaving the group without enough members to approve the draft report.
Yaki told reporters last week the report was "cooked" by the panel's majority to "lay an indictment against the Obama administration."
Yaki was also the senior advisor to Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, for seven years. In 2005, he was appointed to the commission by Pelosi.
Main Justice said it was not told why Friday's meeting was canceled.
The group had spent a reported $173,000 on the full report, which was obtained by Talking Points Memo .
The report alleges the Justice Department stalled the Commission's investigation into the New Black Panther case.
Republicans have been critical of the Justice Departments handling of the New Black Panthers voter intimidation case in Philadelphia.
The political Web site Talking Points Memo thinks that Tuesdays second incident of a New Black Panther member appearing at the same polling location in Philadelphia could open the door for another investigation.
That incident was first reported by Fox 29.
The appearance of a member of the New Black Panther Party at that same polling place in Philadelphia yesterday -- though he didn't appear to be doing anything illegal -- will likely give Smith more ammunition, the site says.
The Washington Post speculated on Wednesday that Attorney General Eric Holder may get the first GOP subpoena of the new year in the New Black Panther case.
We need a new commission on civil rights. It can recommend the last commission for prosecution, and disband.
The only thing that will be cooked is obama’s goose.
I’ll have mine charbroiled please. I will also have some whine with that well done goose.
What can be done to move this along? Where is Issa on this? Wasn’t he pushing for this investigation and report?
I don’t know what’s going on here, todays regular scheduled meeting was cancelled several days ago and no reason was given.
The Commission holds a 6 leaning conservative to 2 demorat lead on the panel. I don’t believe they’re trying to scrub the report, I fully believe it will be approved and submitted but can’t find anything else about it right now.
Thanks for the mention. That’s actually good to know. Hopefully something will come of this. It should.
Michael Yaki is a former San Francisco Supervisor. He’s a total lefty.
After the new House is sworn there will definitely be investigations on this Black Panther/DOJ thing and their race-neutral policy or I should say lack of it. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the first investigation out of the chute.
Check my post #6 also.
Absolutely, he’s a flaming lib and a former senior adviser to Pelosi, she’s the one who appointed him to the Commission.
Yaki was also the senior advisor to Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, for seven years.
ROFLMAO!
LOL!
Thanks, I didn’t pick up on that. Looks like Fox Philly has at least one conservative. :-)
Hope someone gets that report to Andrew.
