An e-mail clearly sent by an employee of the Duval County School District takes aim at the tea party movement and its members, blatantly calling them racists -- accusations that have left local members of the movement angry and disappointed.
Cynthia Jones-Humphrey, technical manager in the department of Community and Family Engagement, sent the e-mail, titled "Why We Must Vote!" from her school account on Monday morning.
The e-mail encourages people to vote a straight Democratic ticket because, "The Republican Party has been hi-jacked by dangerous, radical hate mongers called the 'Tea party.'"
The e-mail goes on: "These people hate Blacks. They hate Latinos. They hate Gays. They hate Muslims and have made many anti-Semitic statements."
Lynne Holicky, the government affairs liaison with the local tea party, was offended by the e-mail.
"If anyone with the tea party made statements like this in writing, they would no longer be a part of the tea party," Holicky said.
Humphrey's six-paragraph e-mail continued: "Fear that these radicals could take this country back past Jim Crow, they hey-day of the Ku Klux Klan -- all the way back to the 1860s. Don't think it could happen? Just stay home on Election Day and see what happens to this country."
It's not known how many people were on Jones-Humphrey's distribution list, but she asked recipients to forward her e-mail to at least 15 people.
"She's very angry and I don't know why. I feel badly for her. I think she's misinformed and misguided," Holicky told Channel 4's Vickie Pierre. "Anytime you disagree with the president you're a racist, and this is what's been going on for a long time, and it's really gone so far." Pierre tried calling Humphrey, but the message was not returned. Al the school district would say is that Humphrey made an error in judgment and the situation has been handled internally.
The school district also sent Channel 4 its extensive policy regarding employee use of computers and e-mails, and said what Humphrey did was a clear violation. "Honestly, with the press she's getting now, I fear she's fearing the pain of her decision," Holicky said. "I wouldn't ask that she be fired. That's not my place."
in addition to hanging the lawyers Shakespeare should have mentioned “civil servants”
The e-mail goes on: "These people hate Blacks. They hate Latinos. They hate Gays. They hate Muslims and have made many anti-Semitic statements."
If anyone disciplines her they "prove" her contention that that they do practice "hate". It doesn't matter than none of it is true. It doesn't matter that what she does is totally inappropriate.
I say we fire her anyway.
(I'm such a hater...;-)
The rising tide of anti-Semitism in America comes from the muslim community and college liberals, NOT the Tea Party.
She should be fired on the spot
Time to drain the “education” swamp too
We need an address where we can send this person pictures of our elected “diverse” congress people.
Seems to me this wretch should be fired immediately. Someone who feels like this, so racist and unever tempered, should not be within eye view of any student regardless of her role in the system.
The only hatred that is proven in the email is that woman’s own. In the liberal’s fight against their perceived evil, they turn evil themselves.
If somneone in My school district did the same, I would not rest until she was unemployed and possibly jailed.
Check it out! I found an entire DEPARTMENT within that school system which can be eliminated without affecting the quality of the educational opportunities being provided to the children!
Fire her ass, now.
Googled that, since I had no idea what the heck it is.
Yep. Your Tax Dollars at Work.
“The e-mail goes on: “These people hate Blacks. They hate Latinos. They hate Gays. They hate Muslims and have made many anti-Semitic statements.”
Naaa...we just hate liars and idiotic civil servants.
Seems to me she’s very close to breaking the law if she hasn’t already. Campaigning on the public’s dime is strictly prohibited.
Link to her department...her email is listed here...

What the hell is wrong with Holicky?
I wonder what a Staff and Volunteer Manager position pays in this School District.
