Ed Morrissey of Hot Air writes, "Let's not pretend that this somehow proves Olbermann's bias. Despite NBC's insistence on calling Olbermann a news anchor, he's one of the most obvious opinionaters in the cable news industry."Exactly. Not to take Olbermann's side or anything, but the rule is pretty stupid and pretty lame. As if "not contributing" somehow keeps journolisters "objective".
It's BS. I'd rather let them contribute. Then they are publicly proclaiming their bias instead of hiding behind a false wall of "objectivity".
sam, I kinda agree with you , i didnt even know it was against thier rules. btw why would a journalist even donate money to the democrats, they give them favorable coverage 90% of the time thats better than money. so in this case it was a foolish waste of his money.
I agree. My first thought when this broke was “you mean journalists aren’t allowed to make campaign contributions?”
The reason he has to be suspended is that this rule is the thin veneer that covers the ugliness underneath. It is one thing for someone to say that MSNBC is liberal but when there is a paper trail, there is proof.
It is ironic that MSNBC has been providing free campaign advertising for Obama and other leftist for years.
The policy does not make sense looking at it that way.
Just found out about the “suspension”.
The reason they have the rule is because some of the Cheap B@st@rds would never put their money on the line. Rule gives them an out.
