I take no great pleasure in having been correct in predicting Barack Obama's reaction to his Tuesday "shellacking." To borrow his terminology, he is wired not to hear the American people's opposition to his radical agenda, as painfully demonstrated in his postelection news conference.
Unhappily, Obama's answers showed even deeper intransigence than I had thought he would be willing to reveal. He is every bit as committed to his destructive agenda as he was Nov. 1 and, despite his claims, is not looking for "common ground."
He said that every election "is a reminder that in our democracy, power rests not with those of us in elected office, but with the people we have the privilege to serve." But if anyone needs to be reminded of that, it is he, because he crammed through Obamacare and other offensive agenda items against the express will of the people.

And, his Obama speak was still full of elliptical pauses indicating he was lying.
Obama on the balcony, waving down the crowds. Just like Ceausescu.
Anything that we can do to piss off Stroker should be SOP.
I really don’t give a hoot about what he thinks.
All GROWN UPS know you get what you give in this world.
“O” shouldn’t delude himself that he’ll be shown ANY consideration in the next two years. (That is, assuming he’ll be in office for the remainder of his ‘Presidency’.)
It is a further illustration of this lunatic’s idiotic and puerile arrogance, that he is YET immoveable on his agenda...beaten and wholly without credibility as he is.
At what point in their personal battle to maintain a hold on REALITY may one be regarded as clinically certifiable? O is text book psychotic!
You’re not lapsing into your Richard Pryor routine NOW, are you OweBAma?!!
I disagree. Republicans have a history of surrendering a position of strength, simply out of a desire for kind words from the liberal press. They're like whipped dogs, coming back for more.
I hate to say it, but Zero has reasonable cause to hope that they will compromise and help him with his agenda.
I am banking on the new R. Congressmen to heed the message sent to the departing members.
Get serious or get lost!!
I’m hoping for the same thing, and it’s certainly within the realm of possibility.
Obama has an incentive to compromise to get things passed to win independents for 2012. For example, I think he was waiting till after the election to give in on tax cuts.(If he gave in before it would have threatened the liberal get-out-the-vote efforts. ) But he has a liberal base which now dominates the democrat congress that is demanding that he fight Republicans ; especially since Dems still control one house of congress. They will be livid when he extends all the tax cuts. Howard Dean already said he will fight Obama if he caves on tax cuts.
Obama is caught in the middle. If Republicans won bigger Obama could compromise and play off his liberal base like Clinton did claiming he has no choice. But since he still has the Senate they expect him to continue the fight. Republicans are in a pretty good political position now for 2012 if they dont blow it (they still are unpopular).
Unions are broke. 2012 will be hard. He needs Wall Street.
And if he is forced to some compromises to win back independents (which he will be) his liberal base wont contribute, much like we got demoralized as Bush worked with Pelosi.
Yes, but two years is plenty of time for them to cool down. This is the best time for him to try a little centrism. I think he will also push to have votes for dontaskdonttell and at least one kind of amnesty bill.
And as we discussed on another thread, with the help of Reid, he hopes the GOP will walk into an ambush like govt. shutdown.
Yes, he lies! Can’t be trusted.
