Why Did Tim Geithner Hold An Undisclosed Meeting With Jon Stewart Last April?

Last April, Tim Geithner held a secret, never-before-disclosed meeting with TV host Jon Stewart, according to Bloomberg, citing the Treasury Secretary's calendar.

The reason, according to a Treasury spokesperson: “Jon Stewart is influential in America, so we took the opportunity for the two to meet and to discuss the economy.”

This basically ends any debate about whether Stewart is a comedian or a newsman. Presumably Geithner thought it important that Stewart be well-informed on aspects of policy, and Stewart felt the same way.

Well, it's now official. We can all rest easy,Jon Stewart was consulted on our economy. Little Timmy either got Stewards ear to push the agenda, or he got exclusive financial advice. My guess is the people who suggested that TV's CSI be brought in to find the DC sniper must be still engaged.

...maybe it’s time to find out what DUMBO’s administration’s assignments are, all these Czar’s should be called before Congress to explain their responsibilities and their accomplishments. Of course we should know what their salaries are also.

He’s neither a comedian or a newsman. He’s a mouthpiece for the democratic party.

AGITPROP: agitation and propaganda

The Agitation and Propaganda section of the Communist Party’s Central Committee was responsible for the education of the people after the 1917 Revolution/ It used speeches, radio broadcasts, posters, film, and visual art to influence public opinion.

In the west, the former Soviet Union spent millions to influence our media and to foment protests. All of our media is engaged in agotprop directed by the DemonRat Party: Hollywood, TV, print, news organizations (AP, etc.), visual arts (NEA), and so on. Story ideas are being generated nonstop to drive the LEFTIST agenda.

You hear the same talking points every day like clockwork. What is different about the RESTORE SANITY nonsense, is that we now have GOVERNMENT INSTIGATED AGITATION = AGITPROP. There is no doubt in my mind that Stewart coordinated this with elements within the DemonRAT Party. He is nothing but a witty propagandist. And heis the tip of the iceberg.

"Jon Stewart is influential in America, so we took the opportunity for the two to meet and to discuss the economy.”

Did they also send Timmy "Deer in the Headlights" Geithner to Oprah, Jay Leno, Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, Homer Simpson, High Hefner, and Yanni, too? All of the above know more about the economy and are more influential than teleprompter-reading John Stewart. Was the White Crib looking for influence or effluence from Stewart?

...according to a Treasury spokesperson: “Jon Stewart is influential in America...

Who?

And the Treasury Department thinks this opinion is somehow relevant to...what?

Our bloated federal bureaucracy has gone absolutely batshirt.

To elevate this...and I use the term loosely, entertainer...to the level of having influence on our economy is simply ludicrous.

One more reason to turn the idiot box off.

Cable TV comedians now consulted on the economy?

Obama, thou art a damned fool and you are surrounded by them.

Simple. By pandering in person, Geithner thought that he would inoculate himself from future barbs. Sort of the same calculation that Palin did when appearing on SNL.

It rarely works. Comedians look down on beggars who would prostrate themselves before lowly comedians.
