Let’s also not forget that this wipeout was led by the activism - the tea party activism. GOP benefitted, but that was what led to it. So next time someone bemoans the Tea Party and Christine O’Donnell (whatever your thoughts there - and I supported her), then you shoot right back about 680 pickups at the state and local level, let by TEApublicans across the nation.
This will also affect state races and statewide races with great rank and file Conservatives coming up and through the system for a decade or more (not to mention redistricting!)
