Portland tips scales for Kitzhaber in Oregon Gov. race; Dudley concedes

Democrat John Kitzhaber stopped short of declaring victory Wednesday, but the vote count shows he will win a history-making third term as governor, and his Republican opponent, Chris Dudley, conceded defeat.

Once again, heavily Democratic Multnomah County played the crucial role in a statewide race by delivering enough votes to swing the tally toward Kitzhaber and away from Dudley, who was coming up just short in his bid to become the first GOP governor of Oregon since 1987.

Done that. And hopefully I won't be taxed out of the property I left behind. I'm still paying on the income tax for 2009 (though I had no income).

On the bright side - down here in NM we kicked our Rat Congressman to the curb and also elected a Republican Governor with a comfortable margin. It ain't all a bed of roses but there are bright spots!

Well now - the tax on my property in Oregon has gone down the last two years in a row (because the market value has declined).

My income tax went down to zero (because I moved out).
