Obama Humbled By Election 'Shellacking' (The rookie Hussein won't "re-litigate" the past two years)

Obama Humbled By Election 'Shellacking'
By Liz Halloran
Updated: 5 hours ago

A sober President Obama acknowledged Wednesday that he took "a shellacking" in the midterm election, and that his once high-flying relationship with the American voter had hit rocky times.

"There is an inherent danger in being in the White House and being in the bubble," said the president, whose party on Tuesday lost control of the House in an historic Republican wave. The GOP is expected to gain at least 60 seats, the biggest increase in more than seven decades. Democrats barely clung to their Senate majority.

"The responsibilities of this office are so enormous," Obama said, that "sometimes we lose track of the ways that we connected with folks that got us here in the first place."

Working With Republicans

The president, who drew comparisons with midterm losses suffered by presidents Reagan and Clinton during their first terms, pledged to work with GOP leaders on issues ranging from tax cuts to modest forward movement on energy policy,

But he warned Republicans that while frustrated voters may have spurned him and his party, they want to move forward and not "re-litigate" the past two years.

GOP leaders, including House Speaker-in-waiting John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell clearly disagree: they say they are poised to immediately start overhauling the recent health care legislation. At a Wednesday morning press conference, Boehner referred to the health care initiative as a "monstrosity" that needs to be replaced.

McConnell said voters sent a message that they want to stop Obama's agenda. Republican leaders say they are committed to a smaller government, and have called for discretionary spending to be curtailed to 2008 levels.

He doesn't get it yet. Maybe something will come to him while on vacation in India.

A sober Obama

They can't prove that.

Oh, he gets it. He just doesn’t care what the American people want. He lied his way into the White House and he’s going to do as much destruction as he can in 4 years. He can spin things as much as he wants and the MSM will report his spin but the people are onto him now. He is scratching his nose with his middle finger at We, the People. HE WON, remember? 2012 can’t come soon enough.

He’s not sorry at all! He’s feeling quite smug because now he’ll blame everything else that goes wrong on the House instead of Bush. He’s a conniving manipulator and knows exactly what he’s doing .He isn’t the least bit sorry all those dems lost their seats. He planned on it. He got what he wanted.

That "folksy" affectation of the term "folks" in his speeches is really annoying ... He couldn't give a damn about us "folks", and doesn't have a humble bone in his body.

Good to hear since there is really nothing to talk about any more. Just deny funds for the next 2 years then repeal everything in '12.

Simple plan with no "re-litigation required"!

What does he mean re-litigate? Does he mean no discussion? I mean...as in keep the health care debacle-that will destroy the best health care IN THE WORLD-off the table? What the hell?

He is freaking crazy.

CRAZY!!!!!

He had better be prepared to have EVERY SINGLE MASSIVE MESS HE and his stooges INITIATED. Period.

They rammed though bills without ANY DEBATE with the republicans. NONE. They had the majority and it was all democrats voting and making the law, often with NO REPUBLICAN VOTE.

It was horrific.

Nancy and her creepy arse kissers were ABUSIVE TO THE REPUBLICAN HOUSE MEMBERS AND EVERY SINGLE PERSON THEY REPRESENTED IN AMERICA.

They said TO HELL with other opinions.

So no rehashing, no re-litigating, no talk of past mistakes our president wants to see enacted upon our nation...good luck with that uhbama.

You are not God, you are not invincible and you STILL have a lot of growing up to do. You can start by getting rid of the schmuck's and czars that live to kiss the ground you walk upon. Start hiring men and women who LOVE THEIR COUNTRY and have the expertise to help move us into a sound plan for recovery. Stop with the need to have yes people or idiots like yourself advising you. Go out and find a few REAL mean and women who know their field. People who will tell you NO when needed. For help with this-talk to GW Bush.

And DROP that damn trip to INDIA....why would you do that when we are all suffering so much in the economy. It is obscene.

...acknowledged Wednesday that he took "a shellacking" in the midterm election...

Once again the narcissist in Chief makes it all about him. No hussein, this election was about America.

The president, who drew comparisons with midterm losses suffered by presidents Reagan and Clinton during their first terms, pledged to work with GOP leaders on issues ranging from tax cuts to modest forward movement on energy policy...

Ah, so Mr. "I won" and "ram obamacare down your throats" and "bring me ideas" (then refuse meetings) and just in general lie at every opportunity... Now all of a sudden he's interested in working with the GOP? No. hussein, your agenda, your policies, and your ideals are a failure. They are, always have been and always will be wrong for America. You are un-American and anti-American, by your actions we now know you.

So you will not find compromise with the GOP, you will not find a hand stretched across the aisle. You will instead find a core of dedicated Americans, working to reverse the damage you have already done, and prevent you from inflicting further harm on this, the Greatest Nation. Don't bother trying for compromise, we won't. Don't look for a hand, if anything it will be a fist. Just go on a few more vacations, and you had better start cleaning house - we will investigate all improprieties committed by you and your cohorts in crime.

More than a million citizens marched on Washington with their concerns. If I recall correctly, he said he didn’t notice. He sent out releases Tuesday that he wasn’t watching election returns, either.

I noticed today that press outlets just read from his statement with no analysis. He put all the buzz words in there: he’s moving forward, allowing the GOP to make little recommendations on this detail or that on the health care monstrosity, but not allowing them to touch its core.

His statement was prepared, poorly, by a committee of partisan hack Alinsky-type wordsmiths. Hardly a credible word in there.

Republicans need to re-litigate the past two year since it has never been litigated.

Republicans should litigate all the way back to the day Obama was foisted upon an unsuspecting electorate.

Course, I'm not holding my breath for John Boehner.
