400 members? What the heck? I think NH might be a bit bigger than my corrupt state (NJ) but we only have 40 in the Senate and 80 in General Assembly.

Maybe they all volunteer and dont received health or pension benefits?

Correct. We don't believe in paying them - that only encourages them to hang around.

And if you need them, you call them at home.

We do pay Senators, and they get offices in Concord on our dime - but their staff budgets are minimal.

Not sure about the benes, but they get a salary of $300/year.
