While the rest of the nation rolled up their sleeves ready to get some work done, Konnecticut was "0 for 6" in our congressional elections (all 5 Dem reps. and a lib-tard Dem senator)
10+% unemployment and mountains of debt and they played like it's bidness as usual - we don't deserve to be in the same Republic as the rest of the nation - what a bunch of bloody losers in this God-forsaken leftist hell-hole.
If I could get a few bucks for my house I'd move to a Red (read: Real American) state..............
I couldn't agree more, Psalm 73, and now the governor's race has apparently been stolen from Republican Tom Foley by obvious voter fraud in Bridgeport.
I with I could join in the national celebration today, but after working so hard with local CT Tea Party groups here to elect conservatives / Republicans, I just feel sucker-punched. Wish we could just pack up now and get out of here, but that's impossible for the foreseeable future due to family and work obligations. It just sucks...
Let’s just see what they do with the opportunity.........

Yup, completely agree.
I think, if possible, I actually feel worse than 08. At least nationally we have a little hope, but locally this state is a joke.
And I'm not trash, nor are my family.
But I sorta understand you thinking...........Ha!!
Indeed. Thanks for the ping!
I am almost moved out totally, and am not lookng back.
I would like to say it’s been fun, but the last 10 years have been a disaster in CT.
And a “sore” Peter.
Can someone provide a link to Brown saying we need more welfare and less jobs?
Thanks!
Most ignorant post of the century. Congrats! There are plenty of us freedom loving conservatives who live outside of LA and SF like myself. Unforunately, I’m stuck here due to family obligations. I’ll be sure to mark OK off my list when I do bolt since it has pinheads like you. Besides, six months of winter ain’t my thing.
“but exactly what will happen?”
I envision a Detroit - like scenario. But statewide.
Never mind, I found it. Now I think I’m going to be sick.
We need a strong interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and a return to federalism. The states cannot continue to have the ability to pass laws giving themselves all kinds of expensive programs, then, when they can’t pay for them, head to Washington with their hands out.
Well written and spot on. However, I think maybe things are changing, CA is starting to address it’s structural problems instead of expanding the nanny state. Reported just today:
San Francisco Bans The Happy Meal
San Francisco has banned the Happy Meal, on the day of the return of the McRib no less. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors earlier today passed an ordinance requiring meals that included toys with their purchase to meet specific nutritional guidelines. The vote, achieved with a Gavin Newsom veto-proof majority of 8-3, effectively bans the Happy Meal.
At some level I hope CA exists in it’s present form as a glittering example of socialism and the progressive ideal. Sorta like our little Greece.
However, CA is done...many just don’t realize it yet. The link below is a MUST read.....

“We need fewer jobs and more welfare” Jerry Brown
That unemployment rate is going to hit 30%
Jimmy as a native Californian who has occasion to visit CA every few years, it is my opinion that CA is slipping away from you. And, it does not appear you have any comfortable choices.
Imagine for a moment what it is that will be required to arrest and reverse the major forces and trends affecting CA and the level of trauma that will be involved.
Even before any reversal - how many years it will take to just get back to the break even point. If it happens at all, will it occur within your lifetime?
Decision time.
Good luck.
Why did you send me a Century 21 add?
Yeaaaaah, that’s probably why California is a welfare state that’s about to go bankrupt & come crawling to us for help.
Idiots, or undercover agents of the welfare state? California's Republican Party is thoroughly infested with the latter type - who would rather see Democrats win than fiscal conservatives.
It’s going to cost us so much money bailing out the irresponsible moochers in California. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(
