Exclusive: Andrew Breitbart Says ABC ‘Humiliated’ Him, ‘Damaged’ His Brand
mediaite ^ | 11/3/10 | Tommy Christopher

Posted on 11/03/2010 8:43:16 AM PDT by Nachum

Under pressure from groups like Media Matters and Color of Change, ABC News first scaled back, and then canceled, Andrew Breitbart’s planned participation in its Election Day coverage. Rather than admit they were responding to pressure, however, they decided to blame Breitbart, claiming that he had exaggerated his role in their coverage, essentially firing him for promoting their broadcast.

Mediaite spoke with Breitbart Tuesday night, as he returned from Phoenix to vote, and while clearly stung by ABC’s treatment, he is stinging back.

Breitbart said he spoke with ABC Executive Producer Andrew Morse Saturday morning, “after he released the incredible damaging and patronizing statement from ABC, after their PR flack Ford said they would have a Politifact fact-checker there to monitor what I had to say, after ABC’s decision to attack me,” he was “not particularly pleased.”

Breitbart: “You have damaged me, you have damaged my brand, and I’m asking you to walk this lie back. I never exaggerated, I never lied, I never played my role up.”

However, in his first conversation with Morse, Breitbart says he was calm. “Do you understand that you invited me to be a participant in this, and because of pressure from the predictable (George) Soros, Huffington, Talking Points Memo, John Podesta activist left, to shut up other voices that they disagree with, a la Juan Williams, of course you would have to react.”

Oh come on Andrew, don’t act so butthurt. You’re supposed to be tougher than the liberal slobs you’re looking to supplant.

They just pulled him up to slap him down and humiliate him. Why was he expecting props from the MSM anyway?

Ordinarily during election watch I'll rotate through all the channels to see who is up to what. I'd intended to hit ABC to check on Breitbart. When I heard he was not going to be there I stuck with FOX and the internet!

ABC's action hurt all similarly situated Leftwingtard punks and ho's.

The treasure trove will come in discovery, when ABC will be required to turn over its communications with “(George) Soros, Huffington, Talking Points Memo, John Podesta” and others on the activist left. That tag will stick on the ABC News “Brand,” which is what ABC now fears.

I see it as a rope-a-dope strategery to beat up part of the MSM.

Man Up! The media hates conservatives and will relish any opportunity to smack us down. Beware of praise. Just keep building the media giant “BIG” empire and expose the lies! It will keep them on their toes.

ABC is really screwing up lately - first they allow that douchy pos Behar to say the things she says, now this. I feel the need to contact some advertisers.

Such records and conversations
do not fall under the
“protecting my source” crap
that the “journalists”
like to pull out
whenever they get caught
presenting their fellation of
their leftist co-conspirators
as news coverage.

Andrew Breitbart is a brilliant player at the media game.

No way that he is saying this because his feelings are hurt.

He is positioning himself to win this battle, as he has won every other battle with the MSM in the past. This was a dumb mistake on their part.

Well, if that’s true, Andrew, go after them. Don’t come whining to the public because we can’t do anything about it except watch NCIS and CSI instead of Castle. Quit the whining and get tough. Or weren’t you really prepared to get into this for the long haul? A boycott wouldn’t phase ABC a whit. A good lawsuit will often do wonders for someone’s attitude—try it on ABC.

I was going to do the ABC thing (In Atlanta WSB is the leader in News) but turned it off when I heard Breitbart was not going to be on. In other words, no balanced election coverage.

Well, we can just delay tort reform til his case is finished. :)

He probably was not treated very well, but there won't be any lawsuit. I think he's just using this incident to raise his profile a bit.

Media punditry is a tough business and it doesn't always bring out the best in people. I think most (maybe all) of them are just performers. Ordinary people don't talk about their "brand" being damaged.

Andrew, you should have expected this. You should wear this as a badge of honor. If you are going to battle the establishment you have to understand they will try to crush you by all means.

Just continue to do what you do. You are not trying to expand your “brand” to the establishment(the dinosaur media).
