There is one African-American in the current Senate: Illinois Sen. Roland Burris, who was appointed to fill out the rest of Barack Obama's term after he was elected president...
All three African-American candidates are projected to lose their races: Florida's Kendrick Meek to Marco Rubio, Georgia's Michael Thurmond to Johnny Isakson and South Carolina's Alvin Greene to Jim DeMint. (All three are Democrats.)...
African-Americans are better represented in the House, where there are currently 41 black members.

Record number of black Republicans running for the House and it wasn’t worthy of “news” reporting. And the results aren’t worth discussing either.
Identity politics only matters when it serves the Rat Party.

Why aren’t they reporting on how many Irish-Japanese lesbians will be in the new senate? I can’t find this important information ANYWHERE!!! Why isn’t the information on every newspaper????
Oh, that’s right, because it doesn’t give CBS the opportunity for another repetition of the ‘Tea Party is racist’ meme...

It’s quite surprising that Alvin Greene didn’t win. He seems like the ideal Democrat candidate to me.

There was none when Bush won in 2000 (remember that feeble protest from our second-largest minority group, where they couldn’t get any Senator to sign their complaint/petition/list of grievances/whatever?
Bill Clinton felt that the one who got in later (clean, articulate Muslim from Illinois) was there to get him coffee...

"African-Americans are better represented in the House, where there are currently 41 black members"Ah, yes; represented in the House by such mental giants as Maxine Waters (currently under Ethics' violation investigation), Sheila Acorn-Head Lee, Alcee (impeached for bribery judge) Hastings, Charley Rangel (currently under Ethics' violation investigation), etc., etc.
It's ALL ABOUT "GET WHITEY", and give his money to US!

Yes, and how many red-heads? cat-lovers? members with peanut allergies? chocolatiers? WTH? Must we always have the meaningless breakdown of every group?!!!

The article is discounting the Hispanics that won in the Senate and also governorships. That’s racist.
