Prof who helped write Ariz law wins Kan race

A professor who helped write Arizona's new immigration law has been elected Kansas secretary of state.

Republican Kris Kobach defeated Democratic incumbent Chris Biggs in Tuesday's election.

Kobach had made combatting election fraud his major issue. He advocates requiring voters to show a photo ID at the polls. The secretary of state is Kansas' top elections official.

But some voters supported Kobach because as a law professor, he's advised cities and states, including Arizona, about cracking down on illegal immigration.

Good. I'd like to see people going to jail over vote fraud. There needs to be a strong message that we're not going to allow it. We should end voter registration anywhere other than the courthouse, and voters should be required to register before 2012.

I can't imagine a good reason anyone would be against proper identification of voters;I hope the good professor is even more effective fighting vote fraud in his new position.

I want every vote cheat to really fear going to jail!And I want everyone thinking of cheating voting to know going to jail is likely.

I agree. When Georgia passed a law requiring ID, the left said a lot of poor people didn't have ID. People were asking how those people proved who they were when they took advantage of the government programs. To appease the left, the Governor said the state would give poor people free ID’s. The left still complained.

I'm finished with these people. They've done enough harm to my country. I'm expecting my first grandchild in May. I can't stand still while the scum enslaves the child. I don't know what the first steps should be after this election, but ending vote fraud is a major step that needs to be taken.
