A perfect coda to the Nevada Senate race: In a radio interview this morning, Sharron Angle blamed the media for her campaign's decision to shut out reporters, slamming the press as "unprofessional" and adding that she thinks candidates should teach the media a "lesson" whenever they have the "opportunity."
Angle also described that recent episode where a reporter tried to ask her questions in an airport as "an ordeal."
Angle's comments came in a conversation with conservative talk show Heidi Harris, which you can listen to right here. Asked about the airport episode, in which local reporter Nathan Baca tried in vain to get her to answer basic questions about her issue positions, she griped about "the ordeal in the airport" and complained that it was "the wrong place for a press interview."
"Truly we should have had a better place to have a press conference than at the bottom of the escalator," Angle complained.

How about we shut out the media because they are spies and agents for the Dems just like up in Alaska and the rest of the country for that matter.
I don’t understand what is so hard about answering questions.
The ‘reporter’ was just looking for some stock footage of words and pictures which she could mutate into her evil agenda. These people, ANY local big-three affilate, cannot be trusted - even FOX because they will shop it to the others if corporate doesn’t bite. They lie, they cheat and lie, they lie, and finally, they lie, period!

They weren’t ‘questions’; the best I can explain it is that they were looking to record ‘baselines’ which they could altar. ANY local journalist is looking for a ticket (e.g., damaging scoop) that will propel them to one of the corporate “EVIL THREE”.

When the questions are like "When did you know your maid was an illegal alien?", I'd tell the media to take a hike too.
I think we’re seeing a game changer here with the Tea Party, especially the woman.
Palin, Angle and O’Donnell are calling out the lefty hacks for who they are; pointing out that they are not fair arbitrators, but political activists.
Good for them.
I’ve had it with the mealy mouth mushy RINO talking heads that show up on the Sunday Shows and treat the moderators as objective journalists.
The media governance ALWAYS presents a point of view. The concept that the media ‘objectively’ reports the facts is just that a concept.
The leftist media are liars. At best, their reporting is distorted. At worst it is fabricated.
Is that a policy question? Does that sort of question mean that you as an elected official should never answer public policy questions?
They are professional, just not professional journalists.
They are professional groupthink mindguards and follow this simple code:
I Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking
II Thou shall not allow any member to question the group’s inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions
III Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions
IV Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose
V Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments
VI Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view
VII Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group’s stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members
VIII Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions
Good for her. No need to do any more media interviews with any station until after the elections are over. If people in nevada don’t know where both candidates stand based on their multiple years of voting records, then they haven’t been paying attention.
Not when shouted out on the street. Those types of questions can be cut together with other responses.
A candidate has an obligation not to put themselves in a “gotcha” situation, and refusing to answer questions thrown out when they are in a public place is just good policy.
Would that we could go to the situation where they would be just ‘news readers’. I don’t need opinions from losers who couldn’t find a worthwhile job because of their limited abilities.

I’m never frustrated by what I read or hear from a Liberal.
My only frustration is with conservatives who continue to be shocked by leftist commentary.
It's not the act that is difficult. It is how the answers are reported and in some cases, how the information is obtained.
Press, even pool reporters, act in a pack. They grab their subject when they wish and sometimes where they wish. And, since their reportage of Angle has been unrelentingly negative, it is not the least bit surprising that she should react in this way.
That said, it's up to her campaign and her press staff to cordon the media to place and location of the candidate's choosing.
Giving most of these people much of anything would be be equivalent of expecting Eisenhower to give an interview to Berlin Betty.
