Republicans have opened a 12-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, October 31, 2010. New Rasmussen Reports polling finds that 51% of Likely Voters nationwide plan to vote for their districts Republican congressional candidate, while 39% are opting for the Democrat.
If these results hold, it could lead to the election of more Republicans to Congress than at any time since the 1920s.
With just one day left until Election Day 2010, these new numbers reflect an increase in the Republican advantage from nine points in each of the preceding two weeks.
Republicans lead by 20 among men and by six percentage points among women. They lead by 20 among senior citizens and by 31 among voters not affiliated with either of the major political parties.
But propelling the GOP more than anything else is a huge enthusiasm gap. In a nation with more Democrats than Republicans, the Rasmussen Reports Likely Voter sample projects that 38% of those who actually vote will be Republican. Just 36% of voters are projected to be Democrats.

Rasmussen predicts a slaughter, this is so bad for the Dems.
Good.
Tomorrow cannot come fast enough!
Time to bring the HURT.
The day before the election—”if these results hold.”
What is he talking about? Is something going to happen to change things by tomorrow?
Rasmussen is a timid man more interested in being liked by the left. All the pollsters showing a blow out. But their projections are still too timid in my opinion.
Devastating and catastrophic for the Rats, if true.
I can see an ass whipping from my house!
This would probably mean any Dem tied or up to about 10% ahead in polls is toast. There are going to be a lot of shocks tomorrow night, Oooooh CNN ought to be a laugh aminute tomorrow night.
The Dems can kiss the senate goodbye because all those close Senate races are going to fall the GOP’s way.
I can’t WAIT to vote tomorrow!
Yeah, the idiot has Obama’s approval at 50% today among likely voters. How in the hell is that remotely possible?
My guess, after reading as much polling data as I could this weekend: GOP 270 +- 50. There are too many races with no information...
I gotta stock up on popcorn and practice my spelling of “schadenfreude”
Dems will be in a vote fraud frenzy; including, of course, fraud by law suit and recount after the election. To “Franken” has become a new verb.
Ras's predictions won't hold, the Republicans will win by more, much more than he predicts!
Wipeout ping
If this is accurate (I take all polls with a grain of salt) & the election results play out as these numbers would suggest, Obama may decide to permanently take up residence in India.
Staggering numbers, and they essentially match the final generic results from Gallup.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. :)
