PPP : Rossi up 2 50/48 in final poll of Washington : Murray's numbers worrying for Dems
P.P.P. ^ | PPP

Every time PPP has polled the Washington Senate race this year it's found the race to be within 2 or 3 points and our final poll there is no exception. But there is one twist- for the first time we find Dino Rossi leading Patty Murray, by a 50-48 margin.

Neither candidate has much in the way of support across party lines- Rossi's winning 93% of Republicans and Murray's winning 91% of Democrats. That means independents, as they are in so many races across the country, are making the difference for the GOP here. Rossi leads Murray with them by a 54-42 margin.

The most worrisome number for Murray within the poll, beyond her small overall disadvantage, is that among voters who say they've already returned their ballots Rossi's advantage is wider at 52-47. Murray's ability to keep the race close is predicated on the 24% of respondents who have not yet done so returning their ballots. That group supports her by a 51-45 margin.

Washington has one of the more severe enthusiasm gaps in the country. Barack Obama won the state by 17 points in 2008 but those planning to vote this year supported him by only a 7 point margin. If Democrats in the state vote at a higher rate than response to our poll suggested over the weekend that would likely be enough to put Murray over the top.

Looks like they see this slipping away from her.

We are praying for our country that the voters send her home for good.

I see twenty times more Rossi signs than Murray signs.

But don’t worry.

King County will still find a way to steal the election for Murray. They got it down to a science.

Voting by mail is easy. Too easy. It’s Election Day here for about 3 weeks because ballots arrive in mid-October and can be mailed through Nov. 2nd. Then counting the votes takes longer, as well, because of the delay in receiving the mail. This could be another marathon election for Dino Rossi. Let’s hope the 3rd time’s a charm.

Sounds like a weak reed to me.

I think Rossi wins this by 5pts.

Power has been abused (filing suit against Arizona) and exploited by Democrats. Unbelievable! The US government is suing an American state for resisting invasions from foreign criminals! Then, remember on May 19th, all Democrats stood to cheer a foreign leader who had just condemned Arizona law makers for protecting American citizens. Evidence that liberals cannot rely on reasonable adults for votes.

Forget the polls, forget the media spin. Go to the ballot box and put an end to the Dem Party on November 2, 2010. Are you ready to throw this putrid bunch out on their heads?

"I think Rossi wins this by 5pts."

In professional political circles, the word "landslide" is reserved for victories of 5% or greater. It is a big deal.

Seattle Democrats will find an extra hundred thousand ballots in the trunk of a car that a liberal King COunty judge will allow to be counted. Rossi must win by 5 points or the recounts, litigation, felon votes, ballots from the dead, will sink him 6 weeks from Tuesday.

Just slightly greater than the margin of Republican victory.

...”King County will still find a way to steal the election for Murray. They got it down to a science”...

Any person or group involved in stealing an election should be sent to prison for life..Is there no way to bring serious investigation and criminal penalty to this very serious kind of theft?
