Irony reaches new heights as Comedy Central is going to strictly prohibit filming of the Rally to Restore Sanity/March to Keep Fear Alive. PJTVs Washington Bureau chief Richard Pollock inquired with the Comedy Centrals senior vice president of corporate communications Steve Albani about receiving credentials. Albani claimed that Pollock would not be given credentials because of limited supply, and as such there would be no room on the press riser for PJTVs camera and crew. When Pollock said that hed be fine with filming not on the press riser, Albani said that filming would be strictly prohibited between 3rd and 7th streets on the National Mall (ground zero for the event). The email exchange is further down.
The claim that Comedy Central can prohibit filming on federal property during an event open to the public is completely wrong. I know this because I co-organized the first D.C. Tea Party event with John OHara (again, prior to my employment at The Examiner, yadda yadda), meaning Ive gone through the process of getting a permit on federal property run by the National Park Service, which is precisely what Comedy Central had to do. And under the special events guidelines, which Albani may not have taken time to look at, is this:
News coverage of the event is allowed without additional permits unless significant additional equipment set-up, which is not depicted on the Permittees site plan, is involved. Arrangements for press and broadcast media coverage of the event must be made at least seven (7) days before the opening day of the event.

They wanted to hide the nutjobs.
Or maybe because they are EMBARESSED at having fewer numbers then Beck’s rally.
So did anyone get film of the event?
I read about this before they had the rally.
Is there any doubt as to why, in any SANE person’s head?
They way I see it, not having TONS of coverage of the event spread all over the NEWS, not being broadcast on all the MSM, is a blessing.
There is a video of the event, and it is really boring.
Any pics floating around after the event ended? Must have been lots of trash left behind littering the grounds perhaps.
Brit Hume on the after Fox Panel said he was there and the crowd was "HUGH!"
Soviet style filming!!! lol
Da
They were pretty darn sure, BEFORE the day of the event, that attendance would not be the GLENN BECK KILLER they wanted.
That is why they wanted control of any photos.
That, and the fact that the rally really had no point, other than being a sedative.
That's because he was in the line for the only porta-potty the Marines hadn't locked.
I think they wanted to hide the fact that the crowd was 100% White.
They should have been embarrassed by all the signs supporting NAMBLA.
Here’s the video. If you can stomach it.

Looks more like a Halloween party then a ‘pep’ rally.
Comedy Central doesn’t own the Mall. It’s a public place.
One thing I noticed while looking through the photos. Either they are the old hippies who used to abuse LCD or the young kids from your local college who have no idea what is really going on but it’s cool to follow the trend.
