No one seems to be sure exactly how many people packed the National Mall today for the Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear, but there's one thing everyone can agree on: sanity and/or fear are extremely popular.
MTV's spokesperson told the Washington City Paper's Mike Madden that 250,000 people came out to see Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert take the stage Saturday, while Viacom (the parent company of MTV and Comedy Central, home to Stewart's and Colbert's show) told the New York Times' Brian Stelter that "well over 200,000" were in....
At the rally itself, Mythbusters hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage said they counted about 150,000....
To be sure, even the smaller estimates show an extremely large crowd for a DC event, even one in this year of tea party rallies packing the Mall and the Capitol lawn. I have been to many a tea party rally, from the big ones to the small ones, and jammed in the crowd at Stewart's rally as I was today I can say there was an amazingly big turnout....

It looked bigger than th One (Socialist) Nation rally. The camera angles were definitely made to make the crowd look bigger.

That is beautiful! You know....I'm a classic kind of gal so I'm not up on all weapons. I research and then buy when I can. So far, I've stuck with old reliables: 1911 .45, Carbine, .308 (M1A Scout).

I watched a little of this on CSpan. It looked bigger than 50,000 from their camera angle but from the shot in this thread, I think you are right, about 50,000 bussed in liberals. That was intentional. The organizers didn't want any other views accept the one they provided. They positioned platforms for camera at a low angle to make the crowd appear larger that it really was. I believe the technique is called "Forced perspective". MSM use that tool all of the time at Obama Speeches.

I gotta say, thats a pretty weak showing. Until now I had no idea of the crowd size, but thats REALLY small.Palin has done better than this, unorganized, unadvertised, somewhere in Podunk, Illinois. As far as quality, a few orders of magnitude better.

Very smart choices. You can’t go wrong with those.
Still wish I had one of those carbines though, darn it.

Beck raised Millions of dollars for our troops who have fallen in the line of duty, for their families...seems everyone forgets to mention that. That is an excellent point, thanks for bringing it up!

Yes, it would! After Hallowe’en, though, since we move on the First.
We could celebrate Dia de los Muertos here, with dancing skeletons and sugar skulls.

That’s not a very big crowd. Nowhere near last year’s 9/12 March, which was held up on the Capitol grounds. Just the overflow from that first 9/12 March seemed as large as the whole Stewart/Colbert crowd.

It appears between all the astroturf, the box lunches, the free passes, the free busses, all the goodies they could muster that between the two Leftist rallies since Aug. 28th the Leftist's may have come close to the audience size of Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally attendance record.

I started the 'sport' relatively later than most, so my brother, who has been my teacher, has influenced my decisions on weapons. The carbine is my favorite for a rifle because it's a perfect 'fitting' weapon. Not heavy and accurate as heck. Anyway, I'm not Hathcock, but I love guns. LOL.... and the more the better!

I’ve seen that picture posted several times but you can’t see anything in it. It’s dark, murky and doesn’t show people at all.
I wish there were a better picture somewhere, but it doesn’t really matter how many people came out for this. It was entertainment for the shallow and meant nothing.
