Some photos from the Stewart/Colbert rally...
Here’s the original source image for the smiley face: http://blogs.herald.com/.a/6a00d83451587d69e201156fb82331970c-800wi . It’s possible that the guy in the picture printed out that image (or the same image from the original clip-art source) and cut it out badly to make his sign, but it looks like Photoshop to me. I could tell better with a higher-resolution image.
Flag etiquette says that the flag not be worn as clothing.
United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Section 176 - Respect for flag, Paragraph D:
(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
Now the question of what defines the flag must be addressed.
According to the flag laws of the District of Columbia and most states, the words "Flag of the United States" include any flag, or picture of any flag, in which the colors, the stars, and the stripes may be shown in any number which, WITHOUT careful examination or deliberation, the average person may believe to represent the Flag of the United States.
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Regarding flags, check out the last pic from this link. http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2010/10/15-most-bizarre-photos-from-jon.html
Thanks FARS.
Oh please, give me a break. It’s a Reuters photo, why would they photoshop that? It’s not like it’s hugely disturbing.
I’m not trying to divine their motives. Just looking at the photo. It’s possible that the guy holding the sign printed and cut out the image in just the right way that it looks photoshopped, but I can’t imagine why he’d do that, either.
The smiley face has a white background with a drop shadow, and what looks like a jagged edge between it and the background, though the resolution is to low to be sure on the latter point.
Those guys in the first pic are obvious union thugs. Payed union thugs. I’ve been face to face with these cretins. They are souless.

Actually, he's pretty much dropped the "Islam" last name for all his professional purposes for a few years now--basically since he's returned to performing music. He's released a couple of albums just as "Yusuf."
I went to both the Beck rally and this one. There were not a lot of black people at this one, but a lot more than at the Beck rally. Also there were a lot of people with olive complextions, such as Mediterranean types at this event. The Beck event was very pale white, blond, etc. My impression was that the number of participants was comparable.
“a week to pick up all the trash...”
Actually, the announcement was made to please take personal trash away. There was very little trash on the ground, and I walked 9 blocks along the Mall after it was over. There was more at the Beck rally.
The two photos at #18 show close to the Washington Monument and further away toward around 10th Street. I was down around 6th St. and it was crowded all the way to the Capitol at 1st or 2nd and all the way behind me to where these photos were taken. I had the impression the two gatherings were comparable in attendance. I walked extensively through both.
Reports from two college campuses: The kiddos are not singing the praises of socialism as they once were! They still have the die hard liberals but the followers are not there like they were.
The photo on #14 shows the crowd from about 6th street down to 1st or 2nd. Look at #18 which shows two views of the crowd from around 10th to 15th. The space in between 6th and 10th was equally full.
So what are you saying?
From photos of Beck, there were no huge open gaps as is shown on Post 14. This as seen with the lib rally was to enable an optical illusion on the “Stage level shots” falsely claiming the whole area was full, “just like Beck”.
What I am saying, is like it or not, the Mall was full for the entire 15 blocks from 1st or 2nd to the Washington Monument. Having been to both events, I would say they had a similar number of people. Lots and lots of people.
What I’m sayin is you expect us to ignore the Post 14 photo showing many LARGE open spaces set up for optical illusion. Who we gonna beleive you and the liberal MSM or our lyin eyes?
Sorry to get back to you so late.
I’m sure the crowd was much more “diverse” at the Stewart clown show. I was just very surprised that they released so many photos that didn’t seem to show that.
I envy you too. I wish I could have gone to the Beck rally. I would have liked to be at the Stewart/Colbert festival as well.
