Why Are Women Ditching Democrats? (RAT coalition crumbling with women, Catholics, working class)

Why Are Women Ditching Democrats?
By Elspeth Reeve | October 28, 2010 9:15am

The Democratic coalition is crumbling, with women, Catholics, and the working class no longer favoring the party, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll. If more women vote for Republicans than Democrats November 2, it will be for the first time since exit polls began measuring the gender split in 1982. The poll shows just how upset Americans are with the government: 57 percent of registered voters say they'd back a candidate with little experience, and 25 percent said they'd vote for someone whose positions "seem extreme."

But just what they want politicians to do about it remains unclear. Nearly 90 percent are worried about government spending, and half want fewer government programs, but when it comes to picking which ones to cut, voters seem to throw up their hands. They don't want to raise the retirement age or cut Social Security benefits, and fewer support raising taxes on those making salaries higher than $250,000 than did earlier this year. And by a small margin--45 percent to 41 percent--more voters favor keeping the new health care law than want it repealed.

I met Sarah Palin on her recent book tour. (Passed along the ever popular, yet stolen from FR, Biden Rogaine joke.) She's a HUGE force.

I hope to visit the Palin Presidential Library one day. I've never been to Alaska.

And when things improve women will go right back to voting for the Dems. Not all, but most.

From the article :

That Was Fast, Jennifer Rubin observes at Contentions. Rubin writes, "for the Times poll, which a savvy Democratic pundit confided to me does indeed historically 'tip Democratic,' the numbers are horrible for the Democrats." Obama's approval rating is 43 percent; Nancy Pelosi has become a huge liability. "Obama has managed to lose his own standing, take his party down with him, and convince core Democratic constituencies to vote Republican. And it took him only two years."

And the vindictive sort of guy he is he'll be doing even more for the party during the next two years. Don't think for a minute he'll put rebuilding the party ahead of getting even.

Regards

Many of these women have become the family bread winners because their husbands have lost their jobs. That is a terrible situation for family across the fruited plain. They are voting for jobs for their husbands.

As usual it is the BRILLIANT women of the nation who put America hating Marxists in power! We allowed them to DRIVE and VOTE...no greater mistakes were ever made.

I think the title is misleading a little, it should be "Why are Women FINALLY Ditching Democrats?";

They have voted with the dems for years, and I think after the Sinclair Recepticle leaves office, they will again go back to the left.

It just sounded like they were leading the way in ditching democrats, when the fact is they're just coming around.

The man they they thought was Prince Charming the night before turned out to be an arrogant jackass the morning after he got what he wanted.

“Obama has managed to lose his own standing, take his party down with him, and convince core Democratic constituencies to vote Republican. And it took him only two years.”

Pretty much.
We gotta thank the Kenyan Marxist for doing for the GOP, what the GOP couldn't do after years of tying.

Women are ditching democrats because most of them are Mama Grizzlies and realize the attack on America, their families and their futures.

When I first heard Obama say: “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

I thought, “What a load of liberal bovine excrement.”

But he was right and I was wrong.

He and Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Durbin, Schumer and others are exactly what we have been waiting for: a band of arrogant leftist blowhards, so filled up with themselves and their dreams of forcing a racist, socialist Utopia on America that they have dragged the democrat party down more in 20 months than republicans have been able to do in 20 years.

An considering that hte Dems are opnely insulting the Catholics, women, and the working class through their elitism, I daresay that it should be an obvious result.

And by a small margin--45 percent to 41 percent--more voters favor keeping the new health care law than want it repealed.

This makes the entire poll suspect in my mind.

BTW, it's too bad they didn't poll married and single women separately. I really doubt that single women (70% of whom voted for Obama) are really turning against Democrats in great numbers.

Voters want Big Government... they just don’t want to pay for it.

Americans are a walking and voting contradiction in terms.

Forty percent of all women now own small businesses. Is it any wonder why they would leave the Democrats?

As a group, and obviously with the usual dsiclaimer of many exceptions, women want to be taken care of. Obama sweet talked them but now looks like he can't cut the mustard. So females are bailing out of a potentially losing situation. Give them a strong male figure instead of a pantywaist dipshit, they'll go with whatever he's selling.

“”Obama has managed to lose his own standing, take his party down with him, and convince core Democratic constituencies to vote Republican. And it took him only two years.””

Blaming Obama for this alone is silly. This was the most radical congress since at least the LBJ congress (perhaps the post-watergate congress). Much of the damage was driven by the radicals who have controlled congress for the past four years.

I know the spin will be “it’s not the party, it’s Obama.” But it is the party. It was taken over by the Gramci/Alinsky new left in 1972. That movement culminated in a perfect storm in 2006-2010, mostly in Congress and the Courts. Obama was mostly along for the ride. If we succeed, it will take decades to remove these people from positions of authority.

I do not want to see a Pinochet-type solution here. But I understand why he thought what he did was necessary.
